APPG Migration Libya & Parliament scroll all

Wednesday 7th December I was invited to attend the APPG on Migration meeting with the Medicin Sans Frontiere report on Out of Libya Opening Safe Pathways for Vulnerable Migrants stuck in Libya.. the meeting revealed the terrible way humans can treat other humans.  Time we matured into caring beings.. the message of the season is for all time Peace and Goodwill for all mankind and creation.  Time and time again delusions of power ego gets in the way.
You can read the report on this link MSF Out of Libya report
The meeting had input from the UNHCR and how some migrants do get help with resettlement to safer host countries.  The first point on understanding the situation of migrants I highlight from my overall observation over the years and around global hotspots...is that when a regime falls there can be an implosion of ideologies and groups filling the hole in the political system.  Groups fracture and can conflict fighting one another instead of togetherness and creating a democracy where voices heard, listened to and find mutual compromise to build a future in peace & harmony. All religions carry the Divine message (not a division message) that is to be Egoless Selfless Care for one another and all creation on our home planet Earth. So we cannot blame religion for fracture as conflict and hurting one another means no one understands the message with their heart and soul.  Mind is too full of ego anger & selfishness.
From all the war conflict distorted minds bring .. we are now seeing the results of not caring for our planet home. We are seeing on ever growing grand scale migration due to climate extreme weather and crisis.. Droughts Flooding destroying farmland to feed populations and destroying infrastructures.  We need mature togetherness to stop ego driven wars and violence to urgently see we have a collective battle to undo the damage to our planet home for our future generations.. We are on a tipping edge of not ever having future generations as we destroy all that supports life!

I brought to the meeting how much difference there was in our UK handling of Ukrainian refugees.. Be it an elaborate entry clearance visa outside our borders I had witnessed the dignity and care as I travelled back & forth between Brussels and London. Ukrainian refugees given free travel on Eurostar cared for with love and compassion by staff. A welcome team of volunteers from Cambden Council at London St Pancras station with the station providing a reception room with supplies and advice, support and guidance.

It was lovely to be back in Parliament in person instead of zooming in ..lol in pjs. The parliament staff so kind to me .. I lobbied my MP John McDonnell and we had a good half hour over tea updating on international issues and my projects with refugees.

I thanked Black Rod for the care of our Queen in the time of mourning. I expressed hope that has so many had come in Westminster Hall to pay respects, those that had never been in parliament would see it is a Peoples Parliament.  We discussed as all have the constitutional right to lobby MPs.. and you can lobby in Lords too. We can attend APPG All Party Parliamentary Groups even create a APPG on an issue that you felt was not receiving enough attention to understand & problem solve . We have our voices in parliament!

I want to add in closure of this post a poem with a message for us all

Empowerment of Elderly

๐ŸŒ☺๐Ÿ’žWow what a brilliant morning ... my OAP bungalow in Hayes like a United Nations hub.. so much going on with my International Family Link ups But also attended this Age Platform Europe conference from Brussels..sat on my sofa in my pjs ..oh how pandemic lockdown changed things to zoom all over ..at home!!

๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿ‹️‍♀️๐Ÿ‹️‍♂️๐Ÿšด‍♂️๐Ÿšด‍♀️ I love the presentation on the REBELS hhhhh the rebel elderly in care homes demanding rights to holistic care and taking part in planning.. creating resident councils ..whizzing round on mobility scooters to canvas and listen to others requests & needs.. Getting voices heard for living in dignity in older years...UP THE REVOLUTION! But folk forget we are the generation that fought for dignity & freedom to express & fight for rights..  Hippies from 1960s now with prosthetic hips ..lol .. so why shouldn't we take part in our quality of life in older years and remaining life..? In this is the right for our carers to get support in supporting those of us needing intensive long term care from chronic conditions..

The question to be not only how are you today but what would you like to do today? One woman bed ridden answered would like to see the clouds... when her carer laid her own head on the pillow she realised ..that you could not see out of the window... so the bed was adjusted so they could see the clouds ...

Remembering Mum 17th October

  ๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒน

17th October remembering my mum's birthday..no matter how old we get we never forget our mothers.. Today was the day in dedication to her as a very spiritual caring, compassionate lady I took my blanket made to Harlington Hospice the staff so kind loved the fact my wool used was from the odds and ends from knitting for my refugees..Family Link Up  I had time in the hospice garden with the autumnal sunshine.. On my way home spotted in our local Age UK shop a china tea cup, saucer and plate with a Lancashire red rose decoration... me mum was a Lancashire lass though I was born in Yorkshire due to dads Charge nurse post in Skipton.. me mum loved collecting China cups saucers and plates. . They would always come out with a pot of tea and homemade scones when our local vicar called round. They would have friendly theological discussions.. her wisdom appreciated by Rev Martineau.. ..Thank you mum and grandma to my daughters and great grandma to my grandchildren ..always around 8n spirit.. and no doubt having time with our Queen in spirit world .. ๐Ÿ’ž๐ŸŒน

What's in a hug

What's in a hug ... when caring for refugees it is the overwhelming relief they are safe after all you have seen on the news and in uncensored material... today 4 people hugged safe .. when in Eleonas Camp Athens had a camp full off hugs and with my Syrian family... Wallah edim it is a blessing to befriend another and share their life rebuild ...be there to listen to share silence, tears and laughter... it feels a wider sense of winning against the evil intent of warmongers...

Sunday was listening to a young boy ..trying to understand death and dying ... so much being heard and a need to make sense of it all ..

My nursing career I have nursed the dying and cared for the dead ...a feeling of an empty shell shed as the life force lifted out ..the soul the life energy that made that person live their lives gone ..no more laughter no more tears no more pain no more dreams no more achievement in life ..but a lasting memory a lasting legacy for loved ones... there are some that leave deep footprints on Earth with their very being ..their role and their life mission ..but all part of a family all part of the overall raison d'etre on this Earthly plane .. that little boy reinforces that it will be good for Alia and her Halo child bereavement charity to encompass refugee children in our midst ..so we can hug them help them understand... in that help us adults understand too..

Feeling blessed thank you sweet children for making me feel like the Queen receiving your flowers.
