A journey of support

The Centre of a Heart.
by Marjorie in 2008 when I was a volunteer at a patient run cancer centre in Yiewsley West London and helping women with breast cancer.

I came with heart that was heavy
And head that was about to burst
Yes, burst with all the thoughts and worries.
Twisting, turning, churning round and round inside.

My tiredness too much to bear
No life with family I could share.

I felt alone, trapped within this other person I had become.
Who was self? Where was I? Could I find the hidden me?
My life had been shattered,
With all that I had to bear.
Broken, yes, broken with the weight of it all
………..upon my very being.

The dreaded word had been cancer
The treatment, to take a part of me away.
The part that was designed to nurture,
To give me my female form,
To attract my mate
To suckle my child
But it was gone – yes gone

Only a scar to remind me that it was there….

Once upon a time!

A time now behind me, …a time now past,
A past that was to gnaw within me,
……tear at me with its claws of grief.

I staggered into the place that was shining
A place where I was understood,
A place that listened to me
A place that put its arms around me
A place that could teach me, teach me to find my inner self.
A place that could heal my broken heart and self.

That place where? Why our centre.

The centre of a heart that beats with love
That beats with compassion – for all that need to be heard
That beats with all that helps find my inner soul.

Yes my inner soul,
A place that can never be broken
………and will for all time, always be whole.
I had been networking with another centre in Mount Vernon and it was like a parallel of events as each centre was counselling someone in emotional pain from their journey. So this poem came about.

Making Sense of it all!

Listening ears to help those in need
Make sense of it all.

Confusion of thoughts,
Confusion of feelings,
Confusion of emotions
Making sense of it all!

An Oasis of peace to be able to escape and
Make sense of it all.
New words, new terms
– another language to learn.
What does it all mean?
Making sense of it all!

Leaflets, books and cups of tea,
Most of all helpers with care & compassion to
Make sense of it all.

Calming the fear, catching the stray tear,
Making sense of it all.

Strength to a journey, whose pathway makes weak,
Making sense of it all.

And when you leave
Hugs & embraces complete
YOU can stand tall
As you have made sense of it all!

(With love to those on their journey from Marjorie.)

Thank you to all the centres in the world that give support.

Diana's Fashion at the Palace

Oh Kensington Palace to put on an exhibition of Diana's key dresses... that will be interesting to go to... but very sad too...... I will never ever forget that weekend when we found out about her death....I was on a late turn at Tommys that Sunday and a friend had rung to say put the TV on Diana is dead.... and just had to go to the palace on my way to work with a rose..... but wowee by the end of the week the whole park was covered with flowers..... was a dreadful time....... She is still missed... But her lads are continuing her work... and time as move on....... But would like to go to this ...

Here is the link for you to find out more - though I see the tickets are sold out for tomorrow...

Trace the evolution of the Princess’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances, to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life. Don’t miss an extraordinary collection of garments, including the iconic velvet gown, famously worn at the White House when the Princess danced with John Travolta.

New Art discovery for me

Who Cares

With all the news items of the NHS under strain and stress with all different ideas whizzing around on how to improve things... I have been reminded of Michael Wynnes Play Who Cares.  A brilliant promenade play that was held at the Royal Court Theatre Sloane Square in the lead up to the last election. Michael used authentic words from interviews with staff, patients, visitors, managers and politicians.... and I was one of them interviewed.... it was touching to see he has woven in my words in the beginning, middle and end.... as I have been a SEN post enrolled Registered Nurse, Midwife and graduated as a BSc in Nursing over my career.  I have always been around the NHS and hospitals with a father that was a Charge Nurse and I have never ever seen the service so stressed out as it is now...

The NHS is in need of healing.

Trump debate today

First time had to read the Hansard with the Parental control removed... only for over 18 yrs to read lool hhhhh They have published it word for word.....!!

Paula Sherriff (Dewsbury) (Lab)Does my hon. Friend agree that the expression “grab ’em by the pussy” describes a sexual assault and therefore suggests that President Trump should not be afforded a visit to our Queen?

Pengu Noire not impressed and asking why the POTUS will be wanting to grab all cats in the UK???

The most bizarre debate today in the Westminster Hall - from Mrs May being too keen to offer a state visit and a petition of over 1.8 million signed to stop the state visit... a visit OK but not a state visit to embarrass the Queen...
Paul Flynn
“Some ministers mutter that the big mistake was to issue the invitation to make an early state visit to Britain, a notion conceived as a way of flattering his colossal vanities. At the very least, it would have been prudent to wait before rolling the royal red carpet. Pimping out the Queen for Donald Trump. This, apparently, is what they meant by getting our sovereignty back.”Those are the words of Andrew Rawnsley, which I am quoting.

Point of order from  Rees Mogg
I do not think it is in order to refer to pimping out our sovereign, even if someone is quoting a journalist, however distinguished.

Message for my Readers

Image may contain: flower and plant
Some flowers for you my dear readers of this blog. I am impressed with the amount of visitors this month so far.  But I am needing your help

✿ღ¸getting so despondent and upset as all I try not happening. I really wish I was back in practice as a midwife to work some night shifts a week to fund my project without having to ask anyone for help. The RCM do say I can be Occ Health checked for a Return To Practice course as a over 60yrs old But that will be in September ....and I will need a contract too ... Dear dear readers of my blog and facebook friends I call you friends but many I have never met personally... please can you help with donations to get me to Eleonas Refugee Camp in Athens for March... I really am very fond of the family and all the community there and would like to do the service of being with Boshra for the birth of her second baby...... I would like to assess the maternity services too so that I can report to the UNHCR and the Doctors of the World to see how we can help out as professional practitioners.... but I need some funds... I cannot get this from the pot of funds in the EU as I am an independent carer/befriender..... I have tried to get the Foreign Office to recognise my role and know I report on all I do....they as all the ministers, Mayors and Presidents I write to - say great what you doing Marjorie but no pathway for funding..!! ╭•⊰✿ thank you and share to care and be part of the story
