Remembering Mum 17th October

  πŸ’žπŸŒΉπŸ’žπŸŒΉπŸ’žπŸŒΉπŸ’žπŸŒΉ

17th October remembering my mum's birthday..no matter how old we get we never forget our mothers.. Today was the day in dedication to her as a very spiritual caring, compassionate lady I took my blanket made to Harlington Hospice the staff so kind loved the fact my wool used was from the odds and ends from knitting for my refugees..Family Link Up  I had time in the hospice garden with the autumnal sunshine.. On my way home spotted in our local Age UK shop a china tea cup, saucer and plate with a Lancashire red rose decoration... me mum was a Lancashire lass though I was born in Yorkshire due to dads Charge nurse post in Skipton.. me mum loved collecting China cups saucers and plates. . They would always come out with a pot of tea and homemade scones when our local vicar called round. They would have friendly theological discussions.. her wisdom appreciated by Rev Martineau.. ..Thank you mum and grandma to my daughters and great grandma to my grandchildren ..always around 8n spirit.. and no doubt having time with our Queen in spirit world .. πŸ’žπŸŒΉ

What's in a hug

What's in a hug ... when caring for refugees it is the overwhelming relief they are safe after all you have seen on the news and in uncensored material... today 4 people hugged safe .. when in Eleonas Camp Athens had a camp full off hugs and with my Syrian family... Wallah edim it is a blessing to befriend another and share their life rebuild ...be there to listen to share silence, tears and laughter... it feels a wider sense of winning against the evil intent of warmongers...

Sunday was listening to a young boy ..trying to understand death and dying ... so much being heard and a need to make sense of it all ..

My nursing career I have nursed the dying and cared for the dead ...a feeling of an empty shell shed as the life force lifted out ..the soul the life energy that made that person live their lives gone ..no more laughter no more tears no more pain no more dreams no more achievement in life ..but a lasting memory a lasting legacy for loved ones... there are some that leave deep footprints on Earth with their very being ..their role and their life mission ..but all part of a family all part of the overall raison d'etre on this Earthly plane .. that little boy reinforces that it will be good for Alia and her Halo child bereavement charity to encompass refugee children in our midst ..so we can hug them help them understand... in that help us adults understand too..

Feeling blessed thank you sweet children for making me feel like the Queen receiving your flowers.

Princess Diana remembered

Lovely day at Kensington Palace 31st August be it from our sadness at remembrance of Princess Diana.
A very connected day with other visitors & palace staff.

We all remember the day of the dreadful news...I was booked on a late shift at St Thomas's hospital that Sunday when a friend rang early morning to say put the news on Diana is dead! It still sends shivers down me now recalling this. I took the train into Paddington bought a single rose from the station flower stall and felt propelled in a silent shock to the Kensington Palace gates.. Others were doing the same we couldn't speak in shock. When I arrived on duty I was allocated a mother who has presented with loss of fetal movements & staff confirmed no fetal heart. I was to help this mother deliver her stilborn baby. At first the plan on talking with the mother was she did not want to see the baby or hold. The baby girl was delivering breech and I commented on her beautuful slender feet and how she would have made a ballet dancer. Mother and the father became curious. We actually had quality time in that silent birth. We always take photos of lost babies but in this case ..there were family photos the couple holding their daughter.. A family for that moment. When the chaplain came to give prayers the room being facing West over parliament lit up with the most beautiful sunset.  We all felt and said oh Diana ..that will be her job in Heaven taking care of all the souls of babies and children lost to this earthly world.
It gave the couple a feeling something greater than us all.
