Prince William was then escorted to our charity’s mess room, where he met those currently involved in delivering our service, including our research lead and some of the medics that attended recent major incidents in the capital. The teams shared recent and upcoming developments to our service.
The team also took time to reflect with The Duke on the mental impact that some of the incidents we attend can have, and how we can improve our debrief process to support our teams.
This year, we are aiming to fund a redevelopment of our facilities in collaboration with the Evening Standard. The plans will give our crews additional space to talk and debrief after challenging missions. We hope that this will be invaluable for our team’s mental wellbeing.
