There has always as British/EU citizens been the possibility of taking part and getting your voice and ideas heard in the EU! Sadly with those that did not understand this and voted for Brexit we will have our voices muted... However, with Lockdown it has helped to Open Doors wider with online Zoom conferences & Webinars. This #EU Sustainable Energy Week was very well organised and gave the opportunity to network with others concerned about 1. the need to address climate change; 2. the need to rebuild post covid-19 and with this look at complete new ways to build communities and economies.
You see the recordings on the You Tube channel... euenergyweek this 3 day conference got me up showered dressed and motivated... and was good to be with like minded people, Good to learn and share from my Garden, my kitchen and my sofa... ...I had been missing going into London to meetings and this helped me reconnect with myself as well as others through my keyboard and tablet.....
Liking the idea of Energy communities where you can be part of a best practice in Green Energy production for your local communities. There is help and support from the EU for this..for member countries however.. UK Brexit scuppering this!! However Ireland have already been active in projects.. There is a good initiative for 25-35 yrs old to be on the Board as it is for their future and of course can see long term projects through..
One European city had a project for 5,000 solar panels to generate electricity and it was from this the need for a community support to help install.
I have found a link to a report "Energy Communities: an overview of energy and social innovation"

See how you can get your voice heard in the EU... Marjorie in top three questions to the panel..Do note the whole day conducted in English with all member countries... so not had to splutter in my French, Dutch or German..though my study of these languages are improving as I spend time learning.
