London Borough of Hillingdon

A society without compassion ceases to be a society

Today receive an order of possession of my Sheltered Studio Bungalow from the LONDON BOROUGH OF HILLINGDON..!! 63yrs old with history of DV.. is this the way the Tory government are going with their now failure of State Duty of Care to a woman victims of domestic violence?

I have been married 3 xs a good first husband for 25 years but we lost all in Mrs T recession.  Then an Indian husband for 15yrs divorced after his violent controlling nature and then married Amine Bahhaj - who said he was to care for me and love me - till :-

I was a victim of an abusive Moroccan husband (husband 3) Amine Bahhaj who attacked me one drunken return home early one morning, pushed me to the floor and repeatedly kicked my butt over and over again I flayed my free uppermost arm around to stop him and the left ulna received a direct kick and fractured in an isolate fracture called a Nightstick fracture of the ulna..

He was not prosecuted as the CPS felt there was insufficient evidence, even though I still have a pin and plate in situ.  Amine left me after getting his ILR to move into his Portuguese girlfriend. in a room in an overcrowded house in Hounslow.

I was left penniless by him... and my clinical work stopped due to post traumatic stress depression.  I also have had bilateral breast operation and the wounds broke down - the resulting scar tissue can go into painful spasm in the cold weather.  A pain that radiates round a dermatome to the dorsal thoracic area.

I was to be made homeless in Yiewsley and was helped by Cllr Shehyrar Wallana and actually Boris Johnson, the then Mayor of London.. I went to see Boris at the O2 arena London debate and got his attention at the stage by shouting I was to be made homeless...he reached down to hold my hand and said in the characteristic voice ...Which borough are you in? I said Hillingdon he replied then you tell Puddifoot to help you and tell me how he has helped you. Puddifoot is the long term Tory council leader for the LBH....of course since Boris has become the MP for Uxbridge after Sir John Randall retirement.

I was allocated a sheltered studio bungalow in Hayes with a careline alarm in case there was any unsavoury visits to harm me again by my husband or anyone of his contacts.....

My MP John McDonnell & his local PA came to visit me and was pleased with the sheltered bungalow solution to help me heal. John said this is yours Marjorie now you can heal and rebuild after all you have been through. I have contacted John to inform him of this situation today.

The careline alarm in the Sheltered bungalow a safety issue and I was put on red alert response from the police.... this was important as I had taken my case to Morocco and the judge in Casablanca was disgusted with Amine and had talked of extradition to Morocco for him and his family to stand trial for 1. Fraud & deception use of me to get to the UK and for this made a mockery of their intense scrutiny of marriage to foreigners, 2. the violence to me and they had the X rays as proof and 3. leaving me penniless a complete no no in Islamic law as a wife must be given a means to support herself if left.  So there is a lot for Amine to lose.... and most of all his and his family freedom.

I was being helped by another Moroccan to get this matter sorted but his family started to get harassed by the Bahhaj family so they pulled out of support for me.

The case fell apart with me unable to get to the court in Casablanca in 2015.

I have been battling to get a divorce -  my self petition falling foul as Amine fails to respond so I needed a lawyer here.... I finally found one that could get me legal aid and is struggling to get the divorce too...

Sadly husband number 2 was a violent controller and depraved me of my house that I had worked hard to pay for....he lives in the LBH in a house now worth £350,000 and the council do not challenge him on his abuse of me!!

I have been trying so hard to rebuild my life in this turned the pain into a campaign on domestic and international issues.... From this have been helping a Syrian refugee family - we all mind link as we are all traumatised souls that have lost everything and trying to rebuild our lives.  As a BSc RN RM with counselling certificate I can put my skills into the support.  I have been proactive in learning with attendance in Parliamentary committee meetings and solidarity campaign meetings... and yes have taken to the streets protesting against the war crimes in Syria.

From my support I have started a Family Link Up project of which I have been trying to get some funding from the UK parliament EU the present Mayor of London - all respond with wow great what you are doing but no funds for what you are doing .  There are billions of Euros but only for organisation not individual carer/befrienders...  I have applied for grants and been looking for sponsors and have a gofundme donation site for this project not my living expenses.  All funds go to the refugees in food, clothing and cash as they need.  I recently went to Athens to have a few days in the Eleonas camp and this seems to have resulted in my benefits stopped and the call for my boarding pass..... the other OAPs in the sheltered bungalows on State Pension that travel to Spain and back to India and Pakistan never get asked about their boarding pass or receive any aggro.  I feel my rights have been evaded the right to privacy and family life; the right to liberty; the right to non discrimination... and I am being discriminated against as:-

I am 63yrs old born in 1954 I am unable to get my State Pension as the government have raised the age... so will not get this till 2020 yet paid in since 1969.

I have had a small lump sum from my NHS pension and get £65 a month.  I have been supported on JSA which was titrated accordingly to the NHS Pension so has been £55 a week with the need to pay rent capping and food and fuel.....

I have been applying for paid posts with NGOs to help the refugees as yet no contract offer..... I have prepared myself by studying online - International Law and Human Rights with the free showcase courses on coursera.org so my CV is redesigned. I cannot just get back into clinical work as I need to do a return to practice course.

My benefits have been stopped - I prefer to call them memefits as it is My Money coming back out of all the tax I have paid into the system.

Now I have this order to vacate the property, my safe space, my place to heal and now I am being battered by a system failing women victims of domestic violence.

This is a failing in the State Duty of Care for me as a woman victim of domestic violence, a history of mental illness from post traumatic stress and also being over 60yrs.

It is being challenged my myself with a massive campaign I have to turn the hurt I am in into being proactive..... as I have to improve the support pathway for women fleeing domestic violence to help those aside me and behind me.

The present system of dropping support is dangerous as could lead to a woman committing suicide and it is neglectful and simply unacceptable....

I feel I have no value in the Borough and no respect yet have contributed much not only helping in the local hospital but as a volunteer with the Community Cancer Centre a patient run centre... that interestingly was created by patients to help in the failings they saw in the system on their journey.   I have contributed to the CCG on the research into the improvement of cancer care pathway..

I really am hurt by this lack of support for me by the London Borough of Hillingdon in my time of need and simply not seeing how they could help me more. The council officer delivering the notice has an attitude issue and I have requested staff training for him. There is no empathy to those in need.

Even my help with the refugees could this not be seen as a love and compassion reach out from our borough to them all.  The refugees are not asking to come here... most wish to go to Canada and I am feeling the same as the world at the moment is horrendously in turmoil and Justin Trudeau stands out as a model caring compassionate leader... a model for all please!!

The London Borough of Hillingdon need to review their support of women in the borough and live to their motto of Putting Residents First......

A society without compassion ceases to be a society.
I HAVE CREATED A UK PETITION and have the required 5 people initial supporters including eminent Professors.
~~~~~~~
DWP to have a special platform of support for women victims of domestic violence
There is a fundamental need for a victim to have a strong support system to heal, detox from abuse and restore her confidence as she rebuilds her broken life. To have system that batters her with drops of support is abusive in itself & a gross failure of the state duty of care upon her safety.
DWP should have alerts on files of victims of domestic violence. There needs to be an overlap of care and support as she re-enters the job market when her confidence is rebuilding-there must not be a sudden withdrawal of support. Constant battering by a poor system also tethers her to the past so she feels she can never escape from the pain of her abuse. Support well and when she is through the pain, healing and challenge any company will have one strong lady in their team to achieve goals.
~~~~~

there will be a few days to allow for response and this going live but if you are a UK citizen you can still sign and express your support. Then with the Professors we will be campaigning nationwide for the improvement of the support platform for women.... We aim to get the necessary 100,000 signatures and this debated in the Chambers... as womens lives are being put at risk and she could commit suicide at the receipt of the letters I have received withdrawing support for me in my time of need.

MANY THANKS Marjorie
