My personal experience was quite profound. Not knowing any of the why or where for of this art ... I felt it very powerful connecting with the figures. It seems to me to be saying global connection as the university has students from around the world. Today I have been interacting with students from all corners of the Earth. The artwork seems to be saying science, art & humanities connection from all the subjects studied in the university. The subjects do connect in some way through our lives from work to daily living and personal growth to community and society growth. I felt absorbed by the art as I stood filling the gap and walking in the middle is awesome.
The site in the campus has an air of calm on what is a very busy and dynamic site. But this place gives a solitude to just find some peace with birds singing in the trees and the sound of flowing water from the nearby stream.
Faceless yet full of character and a sense of wisdom as the artist clearly has poured passion in the work. Faceless yet I felt compassion too.
The five figures holding hands connecting - and yes students and professors and studies connecting through the decades learning from one another. The connecting being multilayered from the wealth of studies and learning over the years.
