My daughter and I been sorting out old boxes of memorabilia and found loads from my career as a nurse and midwife... this is some of the finds but got masses of mandatory attendance certificates... from suturing to obstetric emergencies...... amazing career pathway but could have reached higher position if life had not thrown in some very difficult personal obstacles though many I did clamber over!! This little glimmer shows my early days in APPG groups always trying to find a voice for patients and staff in parliament, to national audits been involved in,, and trying to get a series of birthing stories on BBC Woman's hour....In the boxes found the letter to say I had passed my finals to be a midwife... and and me thesis for my BSc nursing done on a typewriter NOT lap top and microsoft word hhhh how did we manage!
The first STABLE programme I attended at St. Thomas's was brilliant on stabilising neonates after resus....that was a good course with doctors, neonatal nurses and midwives coming together.
