I have been watching Lord Dubs report on his visit to Greece to assess the refugee situation now and there is a need for us to help. I have seen first hand the amount of demand placed on Greece with the borders closing for refugees to pass through to reach other family members in Europe... The Greek economy has been struggling generally before the added burden of mass migration into the country...
So I am posting some links and some products for us to think about continuing to holiday in the country and its beautiful islands and to purchase some of their goods. I had time in Athens with my Family Link Up project and was impressed by the shops and traders both in the airport and around the city. I am grateful to the care and safety they gave my family and others in the camp. I have not been to the islands but from the visit Greece site above the islands look lovely with wonderful seas to sail on and swim. The food and nightlife is good by reports and tourists have enjoyed the islands over the years. The mountain villages sound fascinating and welcoming.
So let me show you some of the products that I enjoyed on my visits to Athens to see Boshra and her family when they were in Eleonas Camp. Olive oil is a key ingredient to cosmetics and toiletries with some of the businesses being family run. Kalliston Olive is one example and I really enjoyed using their soaps... with a choice of aromas from Rose to Lavender and Pomegranate. Kalliston Soaps
The name KάLLisToN comes from the ancient Greek meaning of the word, that is, the best, the beauty, the callos and the purity, and at the same time symbolizes the uninterrupted and highest of our efforts in order to reach the best result for the benefit of the consumer.
The volcano Seas spa products sound fascinating.
Another company is Korres and I enjoyed some of their shower gels....Korres Shower Gels they have tempting blends with wonderful names... like Santorini Vine and Waterlily blossom and Japanese Rose
There is wonderful Greek Honey too....Odysea Honey
