Women in Parliament

Oh my mother would have loved this cup and saucer that was on display in the Voice & Vote exhibition in parliament.... she would always get the best china out for visitors especially the local vicar who loved to have deep spiritual conversations and theological friendly arguments. I can feel my mother around me when I go in parliament as she was a woman that would fight for fairness in society and justice where there were ills..... she was a good strong woman...She would have been upset at the way I am being treated by government as both a DV survivor and an over 60s woman... I was her birth in 1954 and she loved my so much as a surprise daughter at what she thought had been her menopause!

The exhibition in parliament is well worth a visit... I happened to be in to lobby my MP and to meet with the WASPI women for a BBC film. More on this in next post.

Oh that is Barbara Castle one of my mothers favourites in the Harold Wilson government - Harold Wilson a Labour PM my mother held in great esteem.

This contraption was a shock to see - a restrainer for women suffragettes.... that the police used. Wow what a contrast to today and our Parliament police who have been so great with me today as they always are.  I get masses of encouragement to keep strong for my Women's Voices to be heard Campaign.
Women's Voices to be Heard

I have put a rose as I always do to buffer anything that carries heavy oppressive energy.  Flowers not only have beauty but a reminder that there is a loving power greater than all that created this universe.
