Summer Exhibition RAA

A lovely sunny day yesterday so took myself off to Piccadilly London to view the Summer Exhibition (later due to covid).  For those of you that follow my  Family Link Up blog on my befriending a Syrian family, you will know that Bushra the mother of the family based in Belgium is an amazing artist. Her artwork is helping her reconnect with herself and heal from the war trauma.  I have submitted some of her work to be considered for the exhibition. We did not get selected but has the judges said on a recent BBC documentary on the exhibition, non selection is not a negative on work & talent. After seeing the exhibition yesterday I can see that selection as to fit themes & perspectives of that year. However the work I submitted could have blended in well with the African art themes too. I will show you as I share some of the permitted photos from my visit scroll down..  also see link to find out more about Bushra's art  Bushra's art gallery page

Now look at these beautiful pieces below

And now the art I submitted for Bushra
Yesterday I enjoyed speaking with the staff at the Royal Academy of Arts who loved my tablet file of Bushra's artwork, they also loved the story of Bushra and could see how her art is helping her heal and rebuild her life. The encouraged me to keep trying for her .. and approach galleries too.
