Lovely atmosphere in Windsor

I had a lovely afternoon & evening in Windsor yesterday ..such a lovely atmosphere and lovely people met. Chats from art, to trade, to Dexter the Windsor cat, to knee replacements.. then immersed in the most peaceful Evensong in St George's Chapel. So peaceful that all in attendance had difficulty leaving ... thank you Spiritual team & choir... Felt extra comforting with the Royal Standard flying which denotes that our Queen is in residence.  I have been feeling more close to Her Majesty through the book I am reading that Joanna Lumley as so beautifully written and complied with people's  memories of the Queen over the years.  A Queen for All Seasons. How the book was compiled  I read a very special chapter on the train journey to Windsor.. Portrait of a Queen.. it was recollections of those artists that have had time with the Queen sitting for their sketches & portraits. Portraits that have become part of our many images of our Queen. That chapter so cleverly put together that was like each sentence a brush stroke, each paragraph a new revelation of our Queen in her personal space. It felt very moving the way her face & expressions changed as she would observe her subjects, we the people going about our daily lives. Her view from the palace window, her wondering & concern on our lives as each passed. One artist capturing this and the light in her face & eyes full of care.

I spoke with one of the castle staff on the book, when I told her what Joanna had said on the This Morning programme...that it was a Bouquet of Memories to present to the Queen on her Platinium Jubilee... She said oh that is beautiful.
