Greek Goodies

Finding Goodies as I link up my Syrian Family
ohhh love the olive oil soap from a really nice shop in Athens...found near the central market on the street link between Omonia and Monastraki lool before the wonderful ice cream parlour we found and enjoyed together - my cute little princess and her mum and me had a good girlie day together....... Wish I could share the photos of us but I will be able to one day when it feels safe to do so.... when we help our Syrian refugee families we have to think of the problems that can be faced to family still in difficult places in Syria.........
But wallah - Honest this soap is good girls.... you do not feel you need to put on any moisturiser after a shower ....your skin feels loved and cared for Well impressed with it.... and Athens is a great shopping place too...
The airside shop in Athens has some really yummy products.... This brioche with cinnamon and iced was well quick to go....just so so yummy with a nice coffee....
This is nice with ground sesame seeds....
Really nice selection of Four Seasons honey too this will be great in my herbal tea to sweeten.....

Cat Style Comfort

With my love of cats and embroidery and cushion covers then this was too much to resist in Antalya and the embroidery is my much loved Kashmiri style with crotchet on material that I love to do too...and learned to do when I was in India so many years ago.... I love the colours and style of these.
back in the hotel in the courtyard garden to model my purchases..

The hotel cat got in on the act - negotiating modelling fees in Chicken and Fish lol
Thank you my lovely friend and trader near the hotel.... loved the tea in the shop too and all our talks and background to fabrics and techniques....

Cobalt Ceramics Antalya

I love exploring new places and suddenly coming across exciting finds... and not only did I find what is an elegant shop for ceramics but a lovely shop owner  that is passionate about his products and the manufacture with some wonderful designs too. There is a mix of hand made tiles in Turkish designs and they can also take bespoke orders too.  There are machine made tiles with borders to create a lovely exotic Turkish ambiance in any home and garden. With this some wonderful home ceramics to add vibrant bursts of colour and pattern to give interest to a welcoming home.
Come and have a look round the shop with me as I saw it that wonderful day.
This plate is fun as it was after my visit to the local hamam Turkish bath all relaxed from a rose soap suds massage that I found this Ceramic shop as I wandered back to my hotel in Antalya
Managed to get my purchases back safely in my hand baggage so lovingly wrapped to protect them from any breakage...
You can contact the shop owner to place orders on facebook Lütfi Çakır

Fountain Like Music

So beautiful in the evening with the colourfully lit fountains so so relaxing and romantic too in the cliff top garden in Antalya ..  the council workers work hard to maintain the gardens even in the extreme heat we had over the week. Dante did well with the photography as they look like musical notes. Love it..

Art to enjoy in Covent Garden

Enjoyed the artwork on this stall in Covent Garden Market ..... there is a gentle softness to the studies ... and the tourists where enjoying the London collection...... I liked the flower collection too.. definitely want to get a collection of these.   The stall holder was busy today.....

Enjoy more of the artist John Pester and his work on this link

Notes

My Syrian refugee Dante gets his notebook I bought from the London Air Ambulance as part of his prescription to write and be cathartic for all the traumatic experiences he has been through.

Healing by the Sea

Such a beautiful place Antalya for healing mind body and spirit... and good to meet away from the border problems in Turkey. My second meet up with my traumatized refugee and so much progress has been made to restore dignity and hope and lay the foundation for rebuilding his life.   Was so touching to give the printed photos of his sister and her family now in Athens that I met with a few weeks ago.  This connecting in my freedom of travel with pension and passport is amazing to do.... and loving every minute with reports to the UNHCR and my MP... we have some great ideas to develop too.
Was good to get on the sea too - so relaxing but also made me think of only across the sea are my bravehearts that I would like to have the freedom to visit... and for my Syrian i wish he had freedom of a passport for travel anywhere in the world.... with dignity... but dignity is building and we will win...
