Bleeding Heart

A survivor of winter spotted in my garden. Bleeding heart ..

Togetherness Peace March 💞

A Very loving caring sharing day at the Peace March & Festival. Yes I joined the M.O.B. Many Opposed to Bombing. It is a very wonderful enlightening experience mingling with the crowds hearing stories and worries in the world as it is at the moment. There are more of us that wish Shalom Salem Peace Om Shanti and togetherness than those few that wish to divide us. The marches and gatherings are a time to support one another as we display signs and symptoms of grieving. Grieving the loss of the world we wish it to be in peace love care and compassion for one another and all creation on this one planet home we share. Yesterday's M.O.B. show we can come together and care for one another. Lots of hugs, holding hands, listening, empathising in the empowerment of love.   I wish the main media news channels would let their reporters roam around to truly see and feel the power of caring and sharing together.

The music corner by Waterstones Trafalgar square had joy and celebration of Palestinian culture.

A very beautiful traditional Palestinian dress was spotted and posted on Twitter by the Just Jews group.. the embroidery and colours so amazing, I wish I had seen this lady to get a close up of the pattern and the story within the pattern.

Colours

Last weeken our Indian neighbours were having so much fun celebrating Holi the festival of Colours. There was colourful powder everywhere in their driveway. I remember being in Mumbai at Holi some years ago ..you got pelted with colours from all directions in fun. A day to wear old clothes though lol

I have followed the colours theme through with another rainbow children's crotchet blanket for the local Children's Rainbow Day ward at the hospital. I am planning a border to artistically represent clouds and sky. So watch this space hope it works out as I see it in my mind..

❤🧡💜 rocking elephant

This is the first time I have seen a rocking Elephant..a very beautiful colourful gift for a toddler. Was in the Oxfam shop Uxbridge when I spotted this. I am sure it will have been sold now .. as I put it on tik tok and Facebook.

Hope for Pear Harvest

This flower spotted in my neighbourhood says so much.

Monday at Windsor

A very vibrant caring afternoon on Monday ..good atmosphere and chats with local tradesmen.
Then joined evensong at St George's Chapel ..We sat in the choir stalls again like on New Year's day . This time I was directly sat behind where Queen Elizabeth II sat on the day of Prince Philip's funeral. Very special vibes. I had a good view of the wall sculptures behind the altar and focused on the one of Jesus under a palm tree healing a man before him. Very special as I took my mobile photo of a very beautiful new Princess born in the Holy land to surround her with protective energy.

Suffragette Sash worn again

💜💚the suffragette sash is out!!! ..there is a twitterstorm..the Parliamentary ombudsman report published today .. says yes we 1950s born women deserve compensation for the DWP maladministration and our loss of 6 years State Pension.. 6 years equates to £46,000 but we are being offered £1,000 to £2,950 .. The lack of respect for all we have contributed to this nation is a disgrace. We the daughters of those that served & survived WW2 helped rebuild the nation .. Now is the time for Deeds not Words and to right the wrong with full compensation . 💜💚 as I point out in parliamentary committee rooms .. this money is never lost to the treasury as will return at the very least with VAT on goods & services we buy with it.. 💜💚 Roll on the next ITV drama 3.6 million of us have many stories to tell on the effect of all this.. 💜💚👩‍💻 I remember when the Tories turned their back on our women protesters in the public gallery.  ...

The Day the Tories turned their backs on us

Good Kindness Vibrations

Thursday  had a special energy about it .. had lovely lunch with Juliya at the Morello Lounge Uxbridge Tapas share and fruit drinks .. even if not fasting in this month due to medical conditions there is still something special about the astrological time .. While waiting for Juliya in the civic centre a mother came in with a newborn baby. A hungry baby and she needed some private space to Breast feed her beautiful baby son. So found her a screened place.. A lovely Afgan refugee family..they actually needed our registrar office to register the birth ..so once this little sweetheart was calmed with a full tummy we could direct them.....Was a nice atmosphere of folk being helped around the place.. ..

Had good natter with Juliya introduced her to my friend Mr Turner our local well respected optician...

Good chats on the bus ..

Then Paula at our local cafe told me a lovely story. I was admiring the double daffodils on each table ...She had a total stranger knock on her door before opening up the cafe to give her them .. in an act of kindness... the kindness vibration was wonderful ....

We need such vibrations to heal us from life stresses and uplift our spirit ..

My tulips in the garden are uplifting my spirits too .

🙏🤲Shukran Allah for the day .. let the world feel acts of kindness and lead to peace .. 🕊🙏🤲

Academic books paased on

Now 70 and no longer teaching but would love to still help out! Been saying goodbye to some of my academic book friends .. dropped them off at Brunel University for the health sciences students yesterday.. our Brunel Older Reference Group researcher was happy to receive them .. I know we are in a google information world but sometimes its nice dip into a book and also gather references... The neonatal resus is better teaching student doctors, paed nurses and midwives than stuck on my bookshelf at home ... it will save new lives ... I remember we followed through at Tommys with a S.T.A.B.L.E. course ...the need to stabilise babies after resus ..

Compassion in Politics

Wednesday 20th March I attended the Compassion in Politics meeting in parliament. here is the link to learn more on about Compassion in Politics Campaigns.. Compassion in Politics.....a very much needed meeting .. given the growing toxicity in politics!!  That divisive toxicity is putting folk off politics and politicians so much so that I am hearing many will not even turn out to vote in the next General Election as they simply do not feel their voices are heard. They see their lives stressed out by malpolicies and feel powerless to change things.  So here we are the pathway to change and get voices heard. Not all MPs are lacking in compassion and care for all. It was lovely to meet up with Debbie Abrahams and get a hug. she is kind caring woman driven by care to be an MP...we have known one another over the years campaigning with Taxpayers against Poverty the late Rev Paul Nicholson founded & in the APPG Poverty. Debbie had just presented a Standards in Public life (Code of Ethics) bill in the House of Commons - see link above to the Hansard.. Hannah gave us insight into the parliamentary code of conduct and ethics and how these are formed. I was enlighten to the fact we do have lay advisors but I wanted to know how lay people are chosen and from what backgrounds they come from .. I feel we need folk from the frontline to help keep order and standards.. I made the panel aware other professionals have code of conduct and in midwifery we have a supervisor of midwifery that ensure we are kept clinically up to date and act in the best interest & safety of our mothers and babies. This is an important point for MPs to act in the best interest of the citizens of the land. Indeed all Global politicians should act in the best interest of all Global Citizens health and well being ! Another attendee suggested the need for more youth involvement.. I totally agreed and stated I actually I would like a 3rd house in parliament House of Youth to scrutinize policies and help make policies for their future!

Some references:

SEVEN PRINICIPLES OF PUBLIC LIFE
Selflessness, Integrity, Objectivity, Accountability, Openess, Honesty, Leadership
and in that leaderships should exhibit these principles in their own behaviour. Treat others with respect. Promote principles  and challenge poor behaviour wherever it occurs.

Rebuild Education Meeting Parliament

Good evening meeting on Tuesday 19th March in Parliament Portculus house .. very strong time of sharing experiences of the educational system over the years and how to rebuild after 14 years of austerity...

My daughter Debbie wanted to come but time not possible so took her points and also of my granddaughter Olivia .. the points put forward were well received Debbie is a catering manager and noticed new employees are not equipped with life skills to cope in the work environment. There is lack of problem solving and with this lack of adaptability.. Olivia is a teacher assistant with special needs children while she studies her degree.  She wanted to put to the meeting that she is seeing more and more that teachers and assistants are dipping into their own money to purchase necessary educational materials and tools. We had both come to the conclusion that failure to provide a good budget for tools is absolutely counterproductive to enhance learning and understanding. Budgets must account for educational tools to ensure pupils and students develop in knowledge, skills and understanding to be a success in the wider community and workforce! So cutting back on budgets is really not acceptable and poor management of governments!

Also put forward my observations of education in Oostende and the history project Leen told me about Videocall learn & share..The Great flood of Oostende 1953.. The teacher had orchestrated the children to design flyers and posters to circulate in the local community. They were to invite locals to school that had lived through the flood to interview. They designed interview questions and documentary filmed. The seminar panel loved this working example of progressive teaching and involving the community.. I pointed out this was a Syrian girl that had participated in Dutch the local used language and had explained it to me in English. My Syrian Professor of Linguistics.. Like many of our refugee children they are becoming polyglots as they interact with all the languages they have been exposed to. Learning as we learn our mother tongue from sounds, sentences construction and context.

A further point I put forward was that we need to fast track students to university that show a skill in Science, Maths, Engineering with Ecosystem understanding. We need them to pilot ideas for infrastructures that can withstand the severe climate changes to come from the Climate crisis.  The fast track should not be impeded by lack of fees rather supported with funding as we need their minds to save our planet home!

The final point made was about the structural problem of schools now they are in a state of disrepair, crumbling and in some cases need rebuilding. As I write this post I think of my younger daughter being health and safety officer for the English Heritage that have ancient building and ruins on sites to manage. Those ruins took centuries to decay we have modern buildings that have taken just decades to decay. So we really need to look at the chain of events from architects, town planners, surveyors, building materials used and produced and building companies plus governments at the time to be brought to account. Money has been wasted on school buildings that should have stood more time than just a few decades and have become a danger zone! Danger to children and to staff! So this is a major issue to tackle.

note I was honoured to wear a Ukranian tunic top that Juliya's father sent me. Her father a brave major on the frontline. So hope she sends photos of how I took the tunic to parliament..

Here is the link to a Manifesto for Education that was given out by one of the attendees.. We really do need to get a grip on Education pathways for the future of our children and the future of us all.

Good read

A well constructed story and a real page turner.. The book is doing some good to help others too.. I bought it from the Hope Centre to fundraise and now have passed it on to our local Age UK shop... but is well worth purchasing new as really good storyline.

Birthday fun

I have had a really lovely 70th birthday and feel much better now as have been going through a reflective time of my life and the ups and downs and challenges. But the love and support of my family and friends has been so therapeutic.  Had lovely flowers from a new found friend that goes with me to the Brunel University Older Persons reference and research groups. My Daughter Debbie, Daren and my Granddaughters took me for a really tasty Indian meal in Sipson near Heathrow Airport.

My granddaughter Olivia made my birthday cake and we had a laugh at me blowing out the candles.  The family had fun with some 70 gifts see below hhh the Vintage bag is brilliant for getting locals having a chat and laugh as I go about shopping .. So generated lots of birthday wishes from the neighbourhood and shoppers in Uxbridge...

1950s born Women Debate in parliament

Thank you to John McDonnell my MP for his strong voice in the Westminster Hall debate in support of we women born in 1950s robbed of 6 years State Pension. We the daughters of those that served and survived WW2 and helped rebuild the nation is a disgrace that we have been treated like this. Our situation was highlighted by the UN reporteur on poverty in the UK but still no shame from government and no action to make amends. See my comment today on John's Facebook page ...

The Peace March today in London I joined the "MOB" Many Opposing the Bombing ! Was a time of togetherness to support one another and be voices for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza..
