Life of stories to comfort children

Sad news that Michael Bond as passed away.  But he has left a legacy of love and wonderful stories for all children to enjoy.  My beautiful Princess Leen loves her Paddington bear and was totally fascinated by the story books with her famous bear friend on the pages of illustrations..... So thank you Michael of bringing love into the refugee camps... I could not resist in my travel through Paddington station to get a Paddington bear companion for Leen to enjoy and sort of give some love from London too.. The station staff loved it when I showed photos of her with Paddington Bear in Eleonas Camp Athens.

In the cabin in Eleonas ready for bedtime.

First meeting of Paddington in Eleonas Camp last year 2016
A bear from Peru well traveled and given lots of love on the way!

Women in the Syrian Crisis

Interesting evening at Westminster Uni Marylebone campus.... so many issues to be addressed both in Syria and out in the refugee camps and communities...... Really none of us can rest while we have such turmoil in the world .. Good meet up with Sisters that have a passion to get a better deal for women survivors of violence upon them in war and peace time......
More on this when I have read round all that was shared tonight.

NEED MORE SUPPORTERS ON MY PETITION TOO AS THE CAMPAIGN IS APPLICABLE TO REFUGEE WOMEN HERE IN THE UK TOO.

Petition of Change

Got the campaign off to a flying start to improve the pathway of support for women victims of domestic violence.  I have published a petition on Change.org which is great as it is interactive with supporters when they share their comments and cases.  I can free text and keep the profile updated. This will serve as a good platform for me then to get the parliamentary petition together for both houses to debate and for reform of DWP policies to protect women long term and provide a strong and stable pathway of support as she rebuilds her life.
The petition is to John McDonnell my MP and Shadow Chancellor.

Strong & Stable Pathway of Support needed for Domestic Violence Survivors to rebuild lives

"I would like all women to have the financial dignity they deserve on their journey of healing from the physical, psychological and financial abuse that criminal perpetrators have exerted on their victims. I am very concerned at the weak support women get in the UK with the present DWP provision. I wish to launch a nationwide appeal for a STRONG AND STABLE PATHWAY OF DWP SUPPORT FOR WOMEN DV SURVIVORS TO HEAL AND REBUILD THEIR LIVES... This is so urgent!!!! For the long term support there is a need to review the DWP policies to protect women from sudden drops in support. Letters received and no money to help her could result in her death from suicide in her depression. Or if the perpetrator is still free in society she could return to him and the next beating be her murder.
We must keep pressuring the weak&wobbly coalition of chaos gov in place now... and the hang over of the "something for nothing" mentality of the Cameron government that appears to demonize those in need of Social Welfare. However, presently there is a failure of State Duty of Care towards women as per UN directives on violence towards women in war and peace time. There is growing evidence in case histories..  Women should not be faced with bailiffs, eviction from safe housing or insufficient money to keep her phone link to call for help or be in need of foodbanks with insufficient funds for food.  When her confidence is built to return to work she must have an overlap of support to be sure she can cope!
Once supported to healing she will be one strong woman for any organisation to have in their team. "
Please support this petition to save women's lives!

Love this for Jo in Parliament

What a lovely idea in memory of Jo Cox in Parliament.  Love this coat of arms plaque and the key to her message More in Commo.  You can read more on this ITV news link as it is good for the children as they were fully involved.   http://www.itv.com/news/2017-06-24/jo-coxs-children-unveil-plaque-in-her-honour-in-parliament/

Pretty Art

More lovely local artwork at the Uxbridge Library today.

Flags of support at Glastonbury

Great to see the Palestinian flags flying at Glastonbury. Shared with our Bravehearts in Gaza... to give some hope in this Eid time as they try to share the festivals together. Time for Peace and a Global Family to share on this one planet home Earth where we are all chosen to live in our Earthly form. Let all our hearts beat as one and finally grow up in our evolution to become Peace Loving Global Family with no borders no walls but bridges from heart to heart of love...  subnote: remember £$ oil and land ownership are man made ego problems never intended by the Creator of all .. The Creator of All made a universe and Earth with enough for us all to share and have paradise on Earth together...

Arab British Centre Sharing

A brilliant evening of sharing for the Refugee week. A great share of literature from Refugees writings and expressions of their journeys.  Some of their creative novels and plays.  Plus artwork, photography and overviews of projects

The evening was hosted by the Arab British Centre... a lovely place with so much going on with language and cultural share in the heart of London.

It was good to be given the chance to talk about my Family Link Up project Family Link Up in the open mike slot at the end of the evening. Thanks to the interest it created too.  Seems strange now to talk of Belgium as during the day Boshra and the girls arrived in Belgium from the UNHCR resettlement from Eleonas Camp, Athens.  I hope I can find the funds to get over to see her.  At least now she is closer and I can go by Eurostar from London InshAllah

This is a brilliant project - https://natakallam.com/
"NaTakallam (“we speak” in Arabic) connects language learners around the world with displaced individuals for language practice online—frequently over Skype.Presently, NaTakallam is focusing on displaced Syrians mostly in Lebanon, but also in Armenia, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Italy, Iraq, Germany and Turkey. As NaTakallam conversation partners, displaced persons gain access to an income, staff training and marketable skills by working with Arabic learners around the world. On the other end, the platform offers language learners affordable, flexible, tailored language practice with native speakers."

The perfect read in Parliament

Took Brendan's book on Jo Cox to read while waiting in Parliament. I love the way this book in written you really feel as if you are with Jo.... getting to know more and more of her amazing drive and personality.  Getting to know the love and strength Brendan has for Jo a love that will never ever die as they are soul mates.....

Parliament today

Been in parliament today.... dropped off a 3 page letter of issues to be addressed to John McDonnell in Derbygate. but did try to lobby John on the major campaign to get a Strong and Stable pathway of support for the long term recovery and life build of DV victims or as my group counsellor says DV "Survivor"..... we need the DWP to keep the support with no drops in that support while she detoxs from the violence and abuse upon her whole being. The letters and abrupt stop of benefits could result in the loss of a woman's life. She could turn back and return to the perpetrator thinking she cannot make it alone and the next beating be her murder or she could commit suicide with the post traumatic depression she is going through. Feeling so being worthless from a system that now is battering and abusing her with its withdrawal of support, is a common feeling. So instead of a system supporting her well being, the failing system augments the pain, so she feels she can never escape the effects on her whole being. It simply cannot be right that women are getting hassled by bailiffs from local councils because housing benefit and my case of an eviction order as a 63yrs old DV survivor with pin and plate in my arm to be evicted from my OAP Sheltered bungalow...... Where is the State Duty of Care for women as per UN directives to keep her safe and help rebuild her life after the perpetrators foul deeds - which includes financial abuse and crippling her with no funds. All that walk on this land pay tax to services that support those in need. I personally have paid tax since 1969.... I am forbidden my State Pension as I was born in 1954 so not permitted my pension till 2020. It would be the simplest solution to pay me my State pension. I try to get paid posts, I try to find funding for projects...I try and try but still get battered back with the system.

I spoke with the TV and Radio crews today to see if anyone would give me an interview given the Queens Speech covered Domestic Violence but no connecting that the DWP needs a policy review to NEVER drop support of a woman till she has her self confidence to enter the job market ... where she can be strong to be a major asset to a company or organisation as she heals and regains her self worth. But never ever should support on the journey be abruptly stopped. I did not get an interview but one ITV reporter says she would like to follow up my story.

I talked with our supporting police today and they as usual value and respect me and say Keep Strong Marjorie Keep Strong you will get the message out. I said I have to keep strong for women aside me and behind me that fall to violent manipulative controlling criminal perpetrators...

Promo to show you

Been promoting my Family Link Up and got some interest along the way....the T shirt helps and I will be wearing it for the State Opening of Parliament...... I enjoy my work out in the field with the refugees, love linking up online and keeping the contact of support for all. Share moments of highs and lows laughter and just story sharing. ...... this individual project needs to be respected as it is my life now for the rest of my life...... what it has taught me is there is a need for displaced people in traumatic stress to be given dignity and respect and a safe space to have some privacy....... and to have the support they need to move on the journey of healing from all they have witnessed and experienced...They do not need a media circus but teams of helpers and supporters and to be able to rebuild lives and have help to rebuild.... http://linkupsyrianfamily.blogspot.co.uk/

Evening with the Community

I was unable to reach the British Red Cross this evening in the Sports complex at Grenfell site.... The police cordon had been extended and the local station closed.... so walked around the surrounding community and had some time by the Methodist church ..then tried to find the Mosque... the Muslim couple I asked I found to be a very brave and good man father-of-four Hassan Kaissi....he had run to help the emergency teams... and he gave prayers over Mohammad now known to be our Syrian refugee.... I thanked him for doing this ... there were hugs ... and his story of constant hearing the cries haunt him..... told him this part of the journey and he needs to get his GP to help him with some post trauma counselling..... what I hear him saying is just what Dante (my Syrian refugee Family Link Up project) tells me of his time in the airstrikes...... this needs catharsis counselling and support to work through all the emotions from feeling angry with situation , anger with self as can feel let others down but in reality the situation was overwhelming and no one could have got all the victims out in time.... there is the experience of first time seeing deceased bodies...... this is something that doctors and nurses need to always remember of the public that are often distant from death.....we need to support through the pain and emotions of loss.... so even though I did not get in to join the Red Cross teams .... was able to at least support this brave and kind man that rushed to help others.........

it is so difficult in the community for them to now constantly see the tower but in a way is helping them talk to bring in the reality of the loss... there is anger and frustration with all the situation and despite attending meetings still feel muddled with events.....People shout.... people talk.... people pray......People stand and stare..... people ask questions....... people angry with the whole situation....... people fear community will never be the same....... people fear being sent away from the area that no matter the housing state and social housing was their home.......
The walk to the Holland park station passed expensive immaculate kept housing, The contrast sharp from one section to another....... But one thing for sure when you see the density of population in London there is a lot of tax being generated a lot of revenue to the treasury ... so what is the housekeeping spreadsheet like for local councils....... why the need to cut corners with budgets....????? Met some kindly labour party members helping and we have all asked why we cannot get our Jeremy in government we would have a different society with a fairer distribution of resources for the many not the few..
I feel for this community the more now i spend time with them all ... feels like being on community as Sister RN RM ...... hope I can meet with the community nurses and midwives over the next few days and weeks... passed a good GP practice..so will call in during the week to meet up.
A message for us all one and all politicians, Councillors, developers and all communities that make up the Global Family we are....A message in all world religions and should move our daily life in that love for one another.

Dante my Syrian Family Link Up refugee and me in our counselling always have a focus on the beauty of flowers when faced with ugliness of loss and pain in war

...and so in this peacetime horror of a rampant fire from incompetent use of building materials....I bring you a flower too.

A tower of flowers seen in the sight of a tower that lost so many lives that were flowers never to bloom in their full entirety

Someone was saying maybe we should have a webpage for those lives to be shared and for us all to remember them all from the life they had before so cruelly taken.

and so to the immaculate housing in the private sector as I walked to Holland Park station... with gardens full of beautiful flowers and birds singing .. that is something yes when I think back no birds were singing near the tower as if feel the loss there.....but on this street was evening song of birds.....

WE need to be a Global Family caring for one another and never be without our basic needs for shelter in safety... a good leader ensures this...
