Who Cares

Worth all getting a copy of this from the last election as Play written by Michael Wynne and performed in the Royal Court Theatre Sloane Square.  A play made up from authentic dialogue of those that work for the NHS, patients that have been cared for in the NHS and those let down by cutbacks in the NHS, plus dialogue from managers and politicians..  I am Marjorie in this play and my dialogue used as Nurse Midwife and a patient in the NHS.... was touched how much Michael used in this play.. but then had 38yrs in the NHS and my father before me as Charge Nurse.... Never ever seen the NHS so stressed out as it is now ... Who will care for the NHS?

Beautiful Moon

Beautiful moon last night as we all came away from the meeting at the Baptist Church - truly Ramadan Kareem Moon in the clear skies for a moment... before the rains in the night.  Much needed rains as we have been in fear of drought with a not enough rainfall and snow in the winter months....

Reflecting in the park

Yesterday took a walk and sat awhile in the local park on the way to the Yiewsley Baptist Church Political hustings.....I used to live in Yiewsley West London.... this park I sat in time and time again when Amine my husband left me in 2014 and it became apparent I had been not only abused but scammed too......
But you know what yesterday I sat and wrote down all the things I have done and achieved since and that list filled a page of my notebook from campaigning for women, to care for our bravehearts in Palestine to helping our Syrian refugees... I have studied and read up on international affairs ... I have marched and protested and walked in the corridors of power in Parliament.. both House of Commons and House of Lords even joined debates in Europe House and Universities .... LADY MARJORIE .....COME ON GIRL YOU CAN REBUILD even if nowt in my pocket and wearing £14.99 battered shoes. This lady ain't needing Kitten designer shoes... just my freedom pass and a good voice, blog and a tweet and off she goes on campaigns to find justice and fairness where there is injustice and pain.  Last night shared my story and the pain of the DWP letting women DV victims down .. you know all the candidates and the audience and the minister of the church all pledged to stand with me ... as we must change the system for the women aside me and behind me ....so was very special night of us all coming together and sharing.. no political argey bargey but seeing the problems this government has created with bad management and how we need to action plan to solve them problems and ease the pain in society. A society without Compassion ceases to be a Society.... Compassion is what is needed now to heal us all and the nation.... and the globe ...

I am trying so hard to rebuild my life and others too... why because that is Marjorie... ohhh my goodness can also add in my list been a character in a play written by Michael Wynne Who Cares!  The last election look at all those that work in the NHS and use the NHS been helped by the NHS been let down by the NHS cutbacks.... but most of all Who will Care for the NHS?

How you make it

As a Yorkshire lass this makes sense to me ... we always having cups of tea. Yes life is like a cup of tea - it is all about how you make it..! This found in Debenhams store in Uxbridge yesterday... When I get some funds will have to get one...to keep reminding me... :-)

Every child Matters

Love this found on the wall of the Yiewsley Baptist Church Cornerstone centre.

There is a good children's centre with also midwives having clinics there.

The pastor has invited me to come some time in the week to see.

Boris Empty Seat

Boris Johnson failed to turn up at a local hustings last night.  I went along to the hustings in the Yiewsley Baptist Church.  Boris failed to turn up to his job interview so how can he be selected?  Could the Foreign Secretary lose his seat? The locals were none too impressed.  You see the locals vote for local MPs that work for them and see and feel their problems.  Sir John Randall the previous MP was a local man and would work hard for the local community.  His surgeries were open and he would stay till the last person seen.  Boris in contrast as had appointment surgeries and is difficult to see.  The novelty of getting the previous Mayor of London in a local seat may have worn off now.   When locals asked "Have you seen Boris?" answer No when asked has Boris done anything for you the answer No...

Sir John Randall would team up with John McDonnell MP for Hayes & Harlington on problems in the borough of hillingdon and we simply have not seen this with Boris.... There was always mutual respect instead Boris has been digging at John McDonnell so not a happy feel in the borough.  A wealthy borough yet with increasing poverty... yes wealthy to the north of the borough and lots of property developers but grassroots folk feeling every pinch of the Tory politically induced austerity.  Churches and Salvation Army in Uxbridge and surrounding wards have seen a sharp rise in the need for foodbanks and charity support in failed badly written DWP policies. Kids turning up at school hungry yet Tories plan to take away school meals.. Elderly struggling with some not getting state pension in shift in retirement age. Some on three good meals a week not a day. Not a happy state of affairs and we need MPs that listen and work for the many not the few elites.
He missed a good evening of sharing with the other candidates.  All candidates presented good cases and answered questions well.. Labour candidate stood out as strong dynamic well read and caring with passion for the locals and local issues as a local himself...

I shared my story of being a DV victim and how women are being let down with cutbacks in CPS and the DWP failing to support on the long road to recovery and rebuilding lives in all the psycho-social aftermath.  That women's lives could be lost as she either turns back to perpetrator and next beating be murder or she commits suicide in depression as feels the system is battering her and criminalising her for needing help. Help she and other taxpayers but into a system to support those in need at times of need.   The audience and all candidates pledged support for my call for a better deal for women...with stronger support to rebuild their lives! They found it unacceptable that I as a 63yrs DV victim should have been presented with an eviction notice from the local Tory led council yes 63yrs old woman to be evicted from an OAP sheltered bungalow.  A society without compassion ceases to be a society....

Local Conservatives sent a short message to say Boris was at a prior engagement. So not very impressive... Locals feel snubbed and not important!!

Arabic Learning

In Ramadan I always feel like improving my Arabic learning... and found this children's meemie jeemie writing book on my desk that I bought from the King George VI Regents Park Mosque some time ago....wish I had the funds to get a bulk buy of this book for the refugee children..... I would love it in the camp to see all the schools in action. So many languages so readily being learned by the kids....I love sharing with the children we learn from one another ... lol exchange Yorkshire with Arabic...

It was funny last week in the Syrian supper evening in Brixton Baptist Church one of the Syrian refugees that has settled in Yorkshire was talking about "me mother" he had the accent coming through in his English speech like my Syrian refugees after listening to Marjorie :-) we love that in our settlers when our regional dialects are heard.. it is what brings communities together... when we chatter & understand one another together...

There are some good teaching books and fun learning on this website..... ohhhhh hope I get some funds for my Family Link Up to get these for the children's learning and sharing.

Ramadan Kareem

Lovely afternoon yesterday at the King George VI mosque in Regents Park. Always inspired by the story of the land given by King George to build a mosque in grateful thanks to the British Muslims that fought in the WW2 and so lovely he laid the foundation stone for this Islamic educational centre. We enjoy visitors from all faiths coming along and sharing together in love and peace and understanding. Fully achieving the goals set by the Queen's father King George VI  Yesterday was packed and brothers and sisters spilling outside in the lovely hot sunshine of the day.  The birds singing as if to join in with the Friday prayers and with an air of excitement on the eve of Ramadan.
Some of the sisters showed great interest in my Family Link Up project with the Syrian refugees. There were a few wishing to go with me to the camps too. We talked of the idea of teaching midwifery to the Syrian womenfolk too. I still feel this would be a good mission to help the host countries, give the women instant career structure to rebuild their lives with... what better than rebuilding lives bringing new life in the world safely.  I need to forge a link up with midwifery schools and see if I can achieve this before my day of parting this world. So conscious of getting older you see.  So much I would like to achieve yet on this Earthly plane.. But being the earthly plane all needs funds to do....

Yorkshire Dama Cheese order here

Lovely and yummy got my order from Yorkshire Dama Cheese... The mint Halum cheese is lovely diced in salad.  So impressed with Razan since she settled in Huddersfield.  It is brilliant she has started this business making Syrian cheese with our Yorkshire dairy farmers..  Great that Princess Anne has visited her factory and commended her enterprise.  Click on the link to read more and order her products....

Captive Queen

Not usually one for historical novels... but been introduced to Alison Weir and love her style of writing.  Really feel to be with Eleanor the key character in all the scenes.. ;-) .... Seems history repeats itself over and over and over again whilst this is set in 11th century you can see the same patterns in today 21st century.  With all the frolicking that Kings got up too - we all have more than likely got royal blood in us... ! A thought of England for the Brexiters of this land now in 2017.....we have always had our links with Europe...
Her husband, Louis of France has been more monk than monarch, and certainly not a lover. Now Eleanor of Aquitaine has one sole purpose: to return to her duchy and marry the man she loves, Henry Plantagenet, destined for greatness as King of England. It will be a union founded on lust, renowned as one of the most vicious marriages in history, and it will go on to forge a great empire and a devilish brood.
This is a story of the making of nations, and of passionate conflicts: between Henry II and Thomas Becket; between Eleanor and Henry's formidable mother Matilda; between father and sons, as Henry's children take up arms against him - and finally between Henry and Eleanor herself.

Regents Park Mosque - King George VI

🌸Very pleasant afternoon at the King George VI Mosque in Regents Park.... love the walk through the park and lovely to get the first glimpse of the mosque between the trees. Great story of our Queens Father giving the royal land for a Mosque and educational centre to be built; it was out of thanks for the British Muslims that fought in WW2. The King laid the foundation stone to the building. The educational centre is for people to come along and learn about Islam whether they embrace it or not. This afternoon we had a talk from a Christian vicar that is now a Muslim, so was comparing the message and practices.....Good to remember as we move towards Ramadan that before Easter the Christians fast too... We have many Christians and Jews that join the fast in the Mosque and help with the evening feast. As we discussed Ramadan we were acknowledging that many are needing food banks and going hungry with the present welfare reforms. So we made a pledge to check on neighbours and see if they had eaten and to share food. Today was the monthly Sunday afternoon of sharing with non Muslims and new Muslims..... If you look at the audience photo we have women and men mixing and there is no pressure for women to wear hijab... the main is for all to be welcome learn and share. .. in the prayer room covering is used out of respect and it feels good to cover and just focus on the peace of the prayer room
🌷Great to see the Palestinian Zaytoun Dates in the Mosque ...

Global Family Evening

Absolutely brilliant evening thanks to the Brixton Baptist Church and our Syrian Refugees..... Global family sharing of food, music and dance and lot of laughter in among tears of story sharing....
Very grateful to all those that showed interest in my Family Link Up project too. With some good email sharing for follow up on discussions.  I am more than happy to come along to meetings to talk about this project too...
love the idea of the web of decorations in the church hall... to symbolize how we are all connected and whatever happens in one part of to world affects another part the world. When our Global family hurt others feel it it too and respond to that pain to help..... all we need is all the power drunk despotics in the world to realise their power is delusional. The real power is love and care and compassion for one another and being a Global family... sharing with one another.
Good food, song and dance and story sharing to bring us all together as the global family we are.
Tables cleared and Dabke dance together.
