WASPI meet up in Jubilee Cafe Parliament

Image may contain: 11 people, people smiling, people sitting, table and indoor
Good for the women to meet up today in parliament with MP Andrew Gwynne, This ahead of our scheduled parliamentary debate on the 14th of December.... But today the SNP were raising the topic at PMQs.... I was unable to get to parliament as was with the womens' survivors group in Uxbridge where I share updates on our WASPI campaign as many our ladies are over 60 and have fallen in the WASPI pension trap... Given our perpetrators have financially crippled us would be good to get our state pension at least to help us. We are having to get ESA and some be put on JSA and told to find work... Right mess this country is in... and not good to treat Grans and Mums like this that have paid in near on half century tax... and not good it affects older women survivors for DV abuse....
A society without compassion ceases to be a society... and all decisions made on policies must have the citizens welfare at it heart as a state duty of care. Click on the link to find out more and help with the campaign.  We do have the Parliamentary Ombudsman involved now this is a big case affecting millions of women born in the 1950s...

Busy Library today

Uxbridge Library is always a beehive of activity - today we had the needlepoint group and we had local artist work on display! I had to call in to print off a form for grant applications as trying so hard to get funding for the refugee project.

Christmas in Uxbridge

Was in Uxbridge Pavilions market today and good to have talk with Carole at the Knitwear stall .. I was showing her the Princess Leen poem that I was on my way to share with the women's group.  Then heard some worrying news from here read on...
Carole was telling me that she would only be there for next week then none of the stall holders will be there till New Year as they had to make way for the Christmas market stalls but there stall were not involved.  This would mean she lost trade for that time. This seems a bizarre action for the LBH to take.  But so frustrating for me as if I had the funds I could buy ALL her stock for the refugees to send out for Christmas.... and other stalls have warm coats and blankets.... so so frustrating when no funds... This could help the traders too they know all their goods going to a good cause... Direct hand to hand link up with Family Link Up.

This project is my life for the rest of my life for sure and there is so much we can do together in the family life rebuild. Don't forget you can help not only with donations but shopping online too.. and any ideas on fundraising let me know..

Women's group

Sad to see this wonderful lady leave... Saana is an amazing kind caring group leader for our Women's Survivors group in Uxbridge... She is leaving to take up a post in Dubai for women survivors there... Good that we will be able to keep in contact over the internet.  We had lovely farewell do today with some yummy homemade Indian cooking, tea and cakes...

And, I was able to read out my refugee poem for Princess Leen as she asked to bring something in to share of ourselves... The group enjoyed my work and the Family Link Up project that I manage but am desperate for funding for this project... I am applying for grants and trying so hard to get funds. Read more o the dedicated blog, to learn about how you can help me rebuild lives and be an hand to hand link up for this family and their needs.

Still enjoying my flowers

Still enjoying my flowers from the White Ribbon Lunch on Saturday.... The Lilies are opening and are so beautiful.....

Eye sees all

Nothing but an eye yet its colour, the gaze all carry not only its own details  but all seen from the first look of life to the journey of her life. The pulse of sadness and happiness seen. Of ugliness and beauty.  This eye tells the story of us all in this world of turmoil.

Marjorie adaption from Dante

Foggy Colour Dream

I sleep like a blue rock thrown by the valleys on the edges, no dream, no colors, no shapes.
Everything is jelly, sliding and does not settle in any form, as in the first creation.
It interferes with all my tired memory. I find only a long way, foggy color, and I'm buried in its depth, walking without a specific destination.
A dream that has become more frequent with me, in the same detail.

Wave of Excitement today...

Princess Leen & Princess Celine send excited hugs
to
Prince Harry and Meghan
Family Link Up are delighted to hear the news
and
wish them a long & happy life together.
This has been a happy Monday morning for us all and sent a wave of happiness and smiles and giggles too.... I have just had a lovely facebook chat with Boshra about the engagement.
I was telling her to get the girls to draw congratulations pictures ... and the other refugee kids too .. and to ask the teacher to help in the local school.  Boshra was amazed that we do this in the UK and that mail is sent and read by the Royal family... I have found a photo of our Queen Elizabeth reading her 80th birthday cards made by children of the nation.  The photo is so lovely of the Queen too.  Boshra is amazed that I write to the Royal family too and get replies. The teacher in the camp could send the drawings to Prince Harry & Meghan Kensington Palace London and they will be received.  Hope they do this will be fun to do.   Another reason why I would like some funds to get art materials for the refugees.
I am sure they Royal family would laugh at this photo fresh in today from Celine hhhhh Celine has discovered chocolate is fun!

Teddies to help heal

Given some teddies to day for the refugees today by the Hillingdon Womens Institute. The teddies have a reason and a mission as all our local ambulances and police cars carry them to help calm traumatised kids. We women survivors attending the White Ribbon lunch at the Civic centre where given teddies... But mine they know are going out to Leen & Celine and the other refugee kids in Belgium.  Lulu and Pengu my cats had to inspect and wondered what they were lol Read more about my Family Link Up refugee project Family Link Up

White Ribbon Flowers

Came home today with these lovely flowers given to me and other women survivors that attended at White Ribbon day and lunch at the Civic Centre Uxbridge. It has been a good time of coming together as survivors and NGO supporters, police, a family judge and the London Borough of Hillingdon councillors and support workers.  We have hope that all we have shared will be actioned in to a better pathway of support.
They are bonnie.. and had been admiring the table decoration flowers as the colours are very calming and healing.  White and Pink and Blue with the green foliage..... very well thought out by the organisers...

Bilingual Dictionary

Even though busy with a few projects and courses on the go online at home... I am still keeping an eye on vocabulary building for my Arabic learning.  This bilingual picture dictionary is brilliant when I am with Arabic speakers lol it helps us out of confusion!  I am lazy when facebook chatting with Boshra in Arabic and tend to use the google translator even though I can type Arabic....... sometimes it makes us laugh the translation is not exact!  I do pick up a lot as go along... Dante when he sends reports and creative writing articles in Arabic I can translate and adapt to English...... I sort of get into his head on what he is seeing and saying....the most achievement in me that I feel is to read the meemie jeemies &  what was squigly writing and see sounds and words now.... I wish I could find more of these word searches in Arabic.... I used to enjoy doing these in Morocco in the daily papers.  They are good for recognising the script as the letters change when joined in a word whether beginning, middle or end.......of course going from right to left not left to right as in English .... the word searches are then good for vocab building.
سهم this is seen س   hah ههand meem مmaking the word for "Arrow" or can be used for "dart"....

Rescue inspiration

"Refugees and displaced people have lost everything. But the refugee crisis is not just about "them"; it is also about "us" - what we, living in far greater comfort, stand for and how we see our place in the world. It is a test of our character, not just our policies. Pass the test, and we rescue ourselves and our values as well as refugees and their lives" David Miliband
this book is written with his compassion..... his family too were refugees........ we can show that refugees have not lost everything they have us to help them they have not lost their dreams to rebuild their lives........ we have amazing people and families with lots of skills, expertise and education all we need are host countries and citizens to reach out as a Global Family link up and help rebuild broken lives......

Justice will come soon for the perpetrators that broke those lives and they will never break the spirit of LOVE CARE AND COMPASSION ..
help me to help rebuild lives - be part of the story with me...... my hand links direct to those I help and they in turn hold their hands of others around them....... we can help many with this project....
