Enjoyable late afternoon at Brunel University

Beautiful sunlight as I arrived at Brunel this afternoon to watch Jaybirds perform.
This production by Jaybird is really good and so thought provoking.  There are so many facets to the work that I feel I would like to see it over and over again. It truly is art when you know each time you view it and listen you will discover something new that intrigues you, challenges you, inspires you and evokes emotions to the nerve points stimulated by the words.
Alex, Ella & Will are true wordsmiths weaving what they have touched and viewed in the days we are having now.  There is much more work that could be generated too with that theme and title... as we are surely having days now that are full of uncertainty and challenges with no true co-ordinates to navigate our way through - the result of that dreaded B word Brexit!   I feel the areas exploring loneliness are precious to those that are in social pain from loneliness, it feels as if the work would be therapeutic. I loved the Moon Bathing that Ella had written and presented.  I really felt in the scene she was drawing me into with her words.

The production team are on tour and it was good that the Brunel Writers could secure some of this time of sharing together.

I love the set - simplicity but with a complexity of dynamics and impact.

Thank you to Jaybird & the Creative Writing department for showing interest in the local students I am helping, my Syrian refugee Family Link Up Project and the WASPI Granny Revolution of 1950s born women that are fighting for our state pension.

Prince William was then escorted to our charity’s mess room, where he met those currently involved in delivering our service, including our research lead and some of the medics that attended recent major incidents in the capital. The teams shared recent and upcoming developments to our service.

The team also took time to reflect with The Duke on the mental impact that some of the incidents we attend can have, and how we can improve our debrief process to support our teams.

This year, we are aiming to fund a redevelopment of our facilities in collaboration with the Evening Standard. The plans will give our crews additional space to talk and debrief after challenging missions. We hope that this will be invaluable for our team’s mental wellbeing.

It takes just a few minutes to support this appeal and support our teams. Please visithttp://ow.ly/SyOH50k9aT2

Donate London Air Ambulance not only will you help the work but you will get regular updates on missions and cases.

Economics for the Many

my order came today looking forward to reading this book edited by my MP John McDonnell & Shadow Chancellor. Economics for the Many.  Good to see reference made to Guy Standing... his work on The Precariat could not be more apt for the situation we are in at the moment in the UK...

The Coaches Perform 'Sweet Dreams' | The Voice UK 2019

ITV The Voice the show tonight has been magical and awesome. Wow this performance of Sweet Dreams was Sweet and dreamy.... look at the age spread... our Tom is amazing he never ages in his love and passion for singing and performing..... had tears in my eyes all though the show as something so so magical going on... especially when Tom turned for Peter Donegan, the son of Lonnie Donegan...completely unknowing yet something connected to make the turn. As I am 64 remember Lonnie and Tom when I was girl and grown up with Tom around in our pop life... lol even remember having his name as a fan on my pencil case at school.....

Thank you ITV for a great evening this evening - so looking forward to more.

Help with my Knitting lol but wow wonderful wool

Lulu & Pengu "helping" me with my knitting!!
Over the Christmas holidays and New Year been knitting a warm jumper for Dante, one of the Syrians in Turkey as there is a cold spell to come.. Family Link Up  I know he will need to keep warm as he is like a social worker for the community there and will be out and about checking on all those in need of help. The wool I am using that I got in Uxbridge Pavilions has Merino wool in from Turkey would you believe... What a link up that is...
"Merino Wool is a natural material originating from the Merino Sheep. Merino has high levels of warmth, breathability and softness against the skin, particularly when compared with traditional wool products." This is so special when I google information on the qualities of Merino wool. Merino is finer than most sheeps wool, which gives it a very soft feel.  I am feeling this as I knit it and it is so light too. I have learned most from this site which specialises in Mountain clothing.. wow could so with some of their wares for the Syrian community in Turkey. Mountain Ware - Merino Wool

I am enjoying knitting with it too so will look out for more of James Brett Wool
