Koala symbol of our need to solve Climate Change

You rest in Peace beautiful one in a Paradise where no pain, no man's ego to destroy creation.... We humans cannot rest in peace we need to dramatically make good all the damage we have done to this wonderful Planet home Earth... with all its beauty of creation. When we learn to care for the Earth, all the flora & fauna and care for one another then we will have earned the right to be manKIND......
Thank you for those that are using hearts and kindness to have tried to save this innocent victim from our madness...

Scary day but fear relieved with Kindness

been a day of fear I would be losing one of my Earth Angel cats Lulu... been battling to heal millinery dermatitis and she was looking as if it might be skin cancer..lost weight fur all bedraggled. We went to a local vet Medivet Hayes  who was so so kind with her and ME as cat crying, me crying, her sister cat Pengu wondering what the heck going on her sister being taken away... so dramatic.... but the Vet can cure what is an severe allergic reaction to fleas as we are near woodlands we have hedgehogs, foxes, rodents and a stray visiting Casanova cat!! so its easy to pick up the critters...but you cannot see the dam things!! she has had treatment and Steroid injection to stop all the itching, over grooming and scratching creating lesions over her body .....I am pleased with this Vet as Lulu took to him immediately if she trusts him I am happy, I trust him so we are now registered patients of his.... such a calm caring manner he had....and I have not held his name in my mind as was so stressed...Pengu is OK but still not come home from following me and her sister to the bus stop....but she has another old lady in the neighbourhood she visits!! so hoping she is there.... Bus drivers were kind to me today too....

What to do with your Plastic Bottles

Some good ideas on what to turn your used plastic bottles into rather than throw away which contributes to the plastic pollution problems we have globally. I am becoming aware that India is leading in great ideas to tackle the problem of waste plastics... I had been aware of them grinding and using in tarmac for road building... but here is an article that gives some useful creative ideas for around the home. 20 ideas to reuse Plastic bottles

India Innovates Episode 4 - Edible Cutlery

This is innovative idea from India on cutting down on plastic spoon use... they have come up with an edible spoon... use then eat :-) amazing!

Looking at the artist Etsy shop is making me realise we need to set up a site for Boshra from Family Link Up to market prints of her work too. There is this Etsy and another other site I have been made aware of BeArte where the art can be shown on a wall to get a feel of the work in place at home or in office...

Image may contain: 1 person
One of my favourite artist Alice Mason Artist and she is preparing another of her art retreats for next year.... Would love Boshra and me to go on this sounds wonderful..

Painting our Archetypes. August 1st - 8th 2020This retreat will take place in a beautiful cortijo near Orgiva, Las Alpujarras, Granada, Spain. We will explore Jungian archetypes through paint, story, writing, guided meditations and talking circles. From this exploration we will paint our own form of self portrait through the alchemy that comes through this practice. The retreat will also include a guided walk in the beautiful Alpujarras mountains from Ferreirola to Atalbeitar, stopping at the many fresh water springs along the way and the spectacular Salto de Paula waterfall. Also a visit to the Centro Budhista O Sel Ling and the prayer wheels and Green Tara statue near Soportujar. This is a short drive up the mountain from Orgiva, which I will arrange. The retreat will cost £1,200 (GBP) per person. This is payable via Paypal or bank transfer. A non-refundable deposit of £200 (GBP) is required to secure your place. The balance is payable eight weeks prior to the workshop.
A class on the Landscape and the Sacred Feminine in Nature will be part of the itinerary as well.
It will include accommodation, vegetarian or vegan meals, painting tuition, where I will teach you some of my techniques, guidance, all art materials and a guided walk. We will visit the Centro Budhista O Sel Ling and visit the prayer wheels and Green Tara Statue high up in the mountains near Soportujar.
We will have daily talking circles where we can share our stories if we wish, journaling, writing, poetry and guided meditations to enable us to bring up ideas from our subconscious that wish to be expressed in our paintings.
It does not include flights, car hire or airport transfers, although I can organise the airport transfers, it will be your responsibility to pay the driver yourself.

Art recognised as therapy by WHO..

Found brilliant article in my newsfeed on the benefits of art as therapy and healing.

On Monday, the World Health Organization’s Regional Office of Europe dove deep into the art world. In a new report, it channeled its considerable power and resources towards investigating whether art really could be a powerful form of medicine — ultimately suggesting art can be therapeutic, and boosting its credibility in the process.
Art therapy isn’t a new field. The journal Art Therapy for instance, has been around since 1969. But it’s taken fifty years for the idea that art could be used as medicine to catch the attention of the World Health Organization (WHO). This report demonstrates that a leading global health power has finally taken notice.
Over the years, scientists have looked at art as a way to keep people mentally and physically healthy. In this report, WHO reviewed the results of over 900 art therapy-related studies, and noted that all together, art really does influence mental and physical health.

Certainly it is helping Boshra in my Family Link Up project... not only healing but a way to help her rebuild her life... you can help her too with our Art Materials appeal and be part of the story with me...

Help with Reading At Home

Vier kinderen zitten aan de salontafel, een vrijwilligster leest voor. Op de salontafel liggen verschillende prentenboeken.
Loving this idea of Readers talking books to families to read and stimulate interest in books. It is an initiative started in Belgium and it is great idea!

"In Vlaanderen en Brussel zijn er tientallen voorlees-aan-huisinitiatieven. Voorlezers gaan er thuis bij gezinnen waar boeken nog geen plek hebben. Op die manier brengen ze leesplezier in de huiskamers. Iedereen Leest stuurde haar reporter op pad om dit mooi in beeld te brengen."
Book reading in Belgium  There is a good film explaining this however in Dutch but the article link you can translate into English too. I love reading Children's books with my Syrian family in Oostende too.. and I deliberately get books with lots of visuals so we can target different languages as the girls are really developing as polyglots.. Read more on my Family Link Up project too!

Hand made Printed cards - Artist & Illustrators show how

Good ideas but preparing the template block does need supervision with children. I think maybe for and adult to prepare and then let the children help with the printing final designs.

Table top fun with Tovertafel

I was in Hayes Library today and was totally fascinated by this idea of an interactive table art. The kids were completely hooked on catching the fish and chasing them around on the table projection.  It is designed for the elderly too with dementia to stimulate into interactive therapy. The company is Tovertafel There are a number of games some pairing games and jigsaws.... and it is giving me some ideas to send to this European company too..

Joining in the Election to listen to the MANY...

🌹Been out in Uxbridge today spreading hope to show that citizens can get their voices heard through a local MP that will have Open surgeries to listen to the people and help problem solve issues with a complete review of policies for the many not the few.... it just makes sense for all to have financial dignity and opportunities as Meghan Duchess of Sussex pointed out in her ITV documentary we all need to THRIVE in Life Not just SURVIVE.... !
Had some good chats with locals and listening to their concerns.. and in those concerns were other 1950s women like myself that had been robbed of their State Pension expected at the age of 60 yrs...There were worries over NHS and schools and policing. There was another interesting issue shared, the shock and anger at Trump actually ringing one our our radio stations and poking his nose into our politics and trying to dictate to us who we should vote for... a big step over the line for the President of USA not understanding you do not dictate to Brits on such matters!! nor dictate at all ..!! we think for ourselves and we exercise our right to choose.......then good to have a debriefing talk with other Labour members that were out and about door knocking canvassing for Ali Milani to be the local MP.....
