Cracking the Arabic writing code

This afternoon been in the library exploring my files on memory key ..found some of my self taught Arabic PowerPoint slides..  Was brilliant on the way home with my print outs saw my Yemeni neighbour that confirmed my writing and was impressed.

I should be reading more and speaking more as put some time into cracking the Arabic code and unravelling the squiggly writing over the last 10 years.. The letters are absolutely representative of the sound made.. The trickery is that the letters change whether beginning, middle or end of the word being made. So what I do is paste the completed word into a text box in PowerPoint I then copy into another text box that when I elongate breaks back into the individual letters again. So I can study the changing shape as they make up the word.

We all know the script is written from right to left..

Zoom Climate Crisis Health Crisis

Some screen captures of slides in a zoom meeting I attended on the Climate Crisis and the Health Crisis that results from extreme weather conditions. There were parliamentarians in the meeting with a wide look at the need to act and prepare for the challenges now and the future.
I continue to highlight that we need Leaders with the Wisdom of Peace and togetherness to collectively help heal and restore our beautiful planet home we all share. We can no longer afford nor permit wars on this planet as every missile launched from whoever and where ever is an attack on us all.  From the sources of materials to manufacture weapons of mass destruction to the transport, the training on use and the horrific destruction from the use of weapons - this all contributes to the climate crisis.  We will need the military but to rescue people and help rebuild damaged infrastructures. We saw in the recent floods in Valencia the aftermath devastation and how the military were needed to help people and clear the mass of debris left behind.  It is heart breaking seeing homes and lives lost and is frightening the intense power of extreme weather.  Surely as we have leaders in the COP meeting they should realise that NOW is the time for Peace and togetherness as we are in danger of losing the most valuable asset each generation has MOTHER EARTH with all her LIFE GIVING AND LIFE SUPPORT.  What use deluded power egos that think in greedy accumulation of $$$$$ and land grabbing. The Earth is our collective home and we all need to care for its majestic wonders. We need to evolve out of being the most dangerous species on this planet home and the only species that trashes its own habitat.  We need Homo Stupidus to truly become Homo Sapiens Wise in the need to care for one another and all creation.

Flowers plus and update

Gorgeous flowers for our Nicola's birthday on the 2nd of November. Lovely colours and flower combination. Thanks to Melanie florist in Tadcaster.  There are more goodies to come when my other daughter Debbie and her husband visit soon.

note from me on my blogposting ... not been updating over the last days as I have been ill with the cold and flu going round at the moment.  So been snuggled up at home watching International movies and drama series on the Walter Presents Four channel.  My French, Dutch and German being added to. Good to get my hear atuned to the languages and feels great when you understand without the need for the English subtitles. There are also very good actors that can get the story across skilfully even drawing you into the story as if part of it.  Love talented actors like this and film production teams that can weave their magic.

Echoes of Silk Brunel Uni concert

🎼🍁🍂 what an amazing way to welcome November.. Enjoyed the Brunel Uni Friday Lunchtime concert with Cheng Yu. The instruments fascinating the Guqin zither with 7 strings an instrument with a history of 2000 years. The strings originally made of intertwined threads if silk and the instrument made out of Rose wood. The other instrument the fretted lute Pipa closely related to the European lute ..it came to China through the Silk Road 4 -5th century. ... I have never been to China but Cheug Yu took us all there with her music. Each piece played drew us into a story from Moon
over Ganeshan pass to flowing water to white snow in sunny spring. But the opening piece of Moon over Ganeshan Pass played on the zither brought tears to my eyes. The music told of the sadness, the fear of men forced to leave families to go to battlegrounds .. not wishing to leave their loved ones and whether they see one another again .....here we are in 2024 with same fears!
The Dragon boat piece played on the lute was good .. apparently a long term tradition of a boating race in China and music played to cheer teams on to win ... 💗 loved time with others that stayed behind to learn more about the instruments & get up close to see the craftsmanship of them ..you could feel the love energy in their dedication to design. 💐👏👏👏👏👏   Cheng Yu Instagram
