Horse Love

Today going to meet Richard and others on the #FreeNazanin Mother's March ... I could not get into London for the 10am meet up at Green Park Station ..why you ask? well my Freedom Pass as become the "not so Free"  Freedom Pass since post lockdown Transport secretary not permitting OAP travel before 9 am ....we is bizarre and not well thought out if you have a morning hospital appointment in some London hospital ?!... so I once in Paddington at 10:15 I took bakerloo to Piccadilly circus to see if I could catch up.. but no one was seen ..so I thought I will walk down to Whitehall and meet the March there. I love the horses outside Horse Guards parade.  They are so beautiful.. kept so well look their coats shine so much you could almost see your face in a reflection.

Soul to soul connection so so beautiful. 

Just want to kiss its nose.

Strange Happening

 

Weird thing happened today that got me very reflective on train coming home ... not sure where our country is going .. After the march a few of us joined Richard and his news reel cameraman for a coffee to warm us up ..we thought easy to go in the Red Lion opposite Downing Street .. none of us drink alcohol but ordered coffees... for some weird reason the barmaid got annoyed with the camera man and ordered him out ..saying you can't film here. But he wasn't filming ..he stated so .. but she called the police... the waitress disinterested in serving our coffees ..no love or engagement as hospitality industry trained to do ... then police came at first bemused why people sat peacefully were considered a need for them to come. But the barmaid insisted the camera dismantle his camera and go... so he was told to go by police... and we all left ... confused as to what happened... ..what is going on in the UK with this gov and our society?? We wished we had gone to the Methodist church cafe round the corner! Or if only we could go in parliament to the Jubilee cafe where staff so kind ....miss going there as they have good suppliers of cakes, mince pies this time of year ...but covid restrictions still in place... to limit public entry ......that now makes me reflective as we have had our right to lobby our MPs in the central lobby restricted...though we can lobby at our MPs local offices.. write, email and set up either zoom meeting or face to face surgery meeting..

🚨#FreeNazanin As a nurse I worry about the stress toll on this family. Richard's mum has to use nasal oxygen to walk ...when she travels in to London to support her son she has to bring her oxygen cylinder with her. She was telling me when stressed she uses more oxygen...well she will with the catacholamine effect of adrenaline..increase oxygen needed as body in fight fright flight mode. Today there was a Mother's march through London to the Foreign office to deliver a Christmas tree with supporters messages on direct to Liz Truss Foreign Secretary...and some strange reason also Trade secretary...a conflicting duality of roles!!! One diplomatic the other trading in weapons under heading of defence!!! Not peace love solar panels and wind turbines!!! I still alert ALL British Citizens that what do the words on our passport mean when our own gov seems politically impotent and incompetent to assist us when in difficulties in the wider world?! This case is a very big worry for all the UK.!!

👩‍💻excellent time of sharing with EU friends in Luxembourg... ils parlont tout le temps en Anglais...so did not have to get my French brain in action. I got my question asked on the brexit customs issue to family and friends in EU... Christophe answered that there are no plans to change the situation.. But in the webinar tight time frame was not possible for me to discuss in full... I have promised Christophe Hansen MEP that I will email him with the letter from the Cabinet office ...and will cc my MP John McDonnell & Lord Dubs.. 

Note that university libraries are experiencing delays ordering books in from UK to EU because of customs.. so students study affected.... and same EU to UK 

Cabinet response Brexit Customs for gifts

🎅🎁☃️👩‍💻 I got an email response from the Cabinet office on my Brexit challenge to why gifts sent to family & friends in the EU are now being charged customs for them to collect. So we in the UK buy a gift or knit up cardigans & warm clothes & blankets for children ...pay Royal Mail tracking ....yet those we send to get demanded to pay customs to collect...Reports of this from my experience sending to Family Link Up, to others around me & in PM constituency experience this sending to Portugal, to Ireland...

The snippet screenshots will give you feel of my pdf letter received... it puts blame on EU ..not our crazy referendum or failure of Lord Frost & PM to respect we have family & friends in the EU,...negiotation to allow for this!  

■ note that my gift parcels value are far less than 150€ the customs to be charged figure..yet had been incurring charge demands to collect.

■  BUT, look at that last paragraph... when we in the UK buy a gift here in the UK ..then send to our loved ones...that is NOT e-commerce.  That rule from 1st July applies to EU citizens ordering goods from outside the EU thus import duty is applied! Now we brexited we are a country outside the EU..so if customers in EU order from our British traders then they are charged import duty. Betty's our well loved Yorkshire exclusive food company as stopped EU orders as too complicated & expensive..EVEN Prince Charles Duchy food company been affected ..so Charles ain't too happy ..

Note: I have just received information from Save the Children charity.. if we purchase fundraising children's books and then send to families & friends in EU ..that they will be charged customs!! 

So I am disappointed with this response and failure to see my points.  We need our EU citizens to challenge this through their MEPs ..we in UK no longer have MEPs... Needless to say my email response letter is now with my MP John McDonnell, with Lord Dubs PA, with local councillors and with my contact in the Flemish House London. 

Brexit is failing us ..by the distortion of facts fed to British citizens that led to this situation plus a gov that quite frankly does not respect or even understand all spin off effects from poor negiotations.. this is inceasingly worrying ...as are we really in safe hands...???!!!!  

Lord Dubs still awaits a direct response from Lord Frost, the Brexit minister on the case that refugees being sent gifts and aid are being charged customs.

Here is the communication link I used and you all have a constitutional right to use ..to raise issues direct to the Cabinet Office. REMEMBER WE HAVE A VOICE  for our public servants to hear... that is our constitutional democratic right to challenge malpolicies.

Plans to heal

 

💞very powerful zoom meeting today organised by Counterpoints Arts a discussion on plans for next year's Refugees Week .. the theme Healing ... 

I will share the recording when ready ..as was some very inspiring projects .. The comic library in Athens will be hosting next year..We had to draw ourselves as a super hero and name ourselves, share our powers and our fear .. As it is panto time I drew myself as Queen Gran with a Crown of Hearts..and a magic wand to share my love.  My fear of losing faculties to old age and losing me powers..

Then another talk from "Room to Heal" Room to Heal    based in London 

Healing ideas were from togetherness, listening, sharing, gardening, growing food to eat together, cookery, arts, walking in nature, sports,, language skills, culture share, fashion, integration,  community healing & understanding..💞
