Studying for my TEFL cert to help with the refugees and their English learning. But I need to gen up on things too :-( despite it being my mother tongue.... Good fun... spotted some resources for when I have some funds to buy. I need to see if there is a fund from the Jobcentre as I am being forced to look for work due to being 63yrs and forbidden my State Pension till 2020.. I do enjoy developing people so this will be good to do as another string to my bow...

pricing kids shoes
Been researching prices as my Family Link Up Syrian refugee family will need winter shoes and clothes... wow the prices are amazing... the quality of the shoes good though and they do good fitting ranges too. But it will be best if I can raise some funds to send so they can shop locally.
These rabbit shoes are cute...
This project is my life for the rest of my life for sure and there is so much we can do together in the family life rebuild. Don't forget you can help not only with donations but shopping online too.. and any ideas on fundraising let me know..

Dubai evening
This week was very impressed with the evening that the Dubai Government put together in the Design Centre High Street Kensington. One of a series of evenings around London. I have read through the generously given book on all they are trying to achieve and the goals they have set to bring people together through art. I am particularly impressed at the reach out to the community for their views and desires for Dubai as their place to live and work. In this reach out all the ex-pats were approached too, in full recognition of the multicultural community they have attracted in the commercial hub of their country. There is a sense of real stimulating energy to entice and encourage creativity. This opening quote has impressed me too:
Carpentry and weaving, for
instance, are associated
with wood and yarn (the
respective craft needed for
their production). However,
in the two crafts the labour
[that goes into them] is
more important, and its
value is greater.
The Muqaddimah of lbn Khaldun
Volume II (1377)
I believe this is so true and there is a need in this day and age of mass production to remember that - there is a need for the passion of the artist and craftmanship to be expressed and felt by all. What was shared in the discussion and meeting was this need to reach into the spirituality of creating something from the heart and soul. Here are some pages scanned in for you to see. But I am deeply touched by the evening of coming together and sharing. I expressed how we can merge and create fusion of cultures through the respectful regard for art.
The artist, Siddiqa Juma has portrayed the Qibla so well in this art form. I love the swirl of the colours the sense of movement of the pilgrims around the static focus point of the Qibla. Symbolic to me of all the facets of human state in the swirl, the different states their energy is in, the colours linking to the auras and chakras of each person and the different levels of spiritual consciousness.. Some coming feeling in peace some coming in turmoil of worry about loved ones and the state of the world. Yet in this movement is the eye of the storm as it were the stability of the the Divine that remains constant. For Allah (Arabic for God) the Divine creator is balanced energy formless and never changing cannot be taken from nor added too but is constant in the love and peace that this world was created in. It is mans downfall to create darkness in the world with pain of an undisciplined ego. The real jihad is the journey withing to rid self of self to discipline the unleashed desires of self and be selfless with this have love, care, compassion and respect for others and all creation.
This architecture I like so much it is so strong in its delicate pretty design. Feels refreshing and spacious and place to feel you can breathe and simply BE...

Feast for my eyes
I need to return to this patisserie in South Kensington it was a quick visit today with only my eyes feasting on the colourful choux pastries!
Evening of Sharing Art
I enjoyed this evening of discussion and we all actually felt like chattering on more after. It is so good to have like minds and creative minds that bridge all cultures. I have a fascination of Arabic and Islamic art. But was able to share with the panel in audience questions and comments how from my time in India, Turkey, Morocco and my Celtic mixed roots that all have a strong link up of Geometrical shapes and patterns. I shared how I had had fun in Morocco with idea of fusion of Celtic and Arabic art.... My point as always as I mix with different cultures is that there is such a chance to become a true Global Family through sharing and fusion of arts and all aspects of living.

Surgery reading
Had to go for my GP check up today and was quite happy in the waiting room as found these magazines. The Menopause Matters is a brilliant journal with great articles to inspire and help understand it all. I had a laugh at Julie Waters on her hot flushes. Could imagine her saying this and her actions... love that woman she is amazingly talented... Do note readers of my blog my saying is Menopause does not mean Pause on Men.. lol even if some us need the pleasure gel.... but many of us in full working order in that department.....
It is worth looking in the Neals Yard Organic shopping link to for supplements to help you with that added support through the transition and there is a wonderful Aromatherapy oil Women's balance that is calming and balancing and just feels like it is giving you a hug ✿✿Shop Now✿✿
Here is the link to the online magazine and to subscribe it is well worth subscription too...
https://menopausematters.co.uk/magazine/
The article refers to the NICE guidelines on the Menopause and I have found you the link to read up more on this https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng23The guideline includes recommendations on:
- Individualised care
- Diagnosis of perimenopause and menopause
- Information and advice
- Managing short-term menopausal symptoms
- Long-term benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy
- Diagnosing and managing premature ovarian insufficiency
My doctors appointment went well by the way :-)

Wish I could travel
So wish I could visit Boshra and the girls in Belgium. Today was near the Eurostar and it is so frustrating I just need the funds to go... I would like to assess the situation for their resettlement and assess the host country needs. It would be good to see the EU parliament too..! Follow the story on my Family Link Up blog.... Peaceful
It was a lovely peaceful afternoon at the King George VI Mosque in Regents Park.. not many of us around as with school and college back in action. Had a good time in the book store looking for books for the Syrian refugee children to send to them.... Today was nice as I met a young Sister that is studying to get her entry requirements for midwifery, that was good for her to meet with me a retired midwife. Made me think I could help with private tutorials if students wish to tap into my knowledge and experience. Can not resist the cakes and coffee in the cafe at the Mosque too... yummy... Shukran Allah for good day..
