Some kind empathetic fans on twitter done this.. photoshop of Gareth in the present holding him in the past. Yes an interesting life circle as he has nursed the pain of a missed penalty shot years ago against Germany. Last night the 2:0 win of England over Germany with Gareth as manager put closure to that pain. It was a clever tactic to bring a fresh sub on towards the end.. .The country been giddy with excitement at the match result.

Stand tall & Strong
Today feeling the intimidating negative energy from the troublesome neighbours around me. Done special protective prayers and don't worry local police keeping eye on me and the whole carry on..This lady ain't for intimidating! Strong from all my life experiences! Just now led to look at an old photo file of the time I joined a team of doctors, nurses, midwives and volunteers to go to Romania to help with the orphans there. It was year after revolution and we crossed Europe in a convoy of trucks & coaches through the big winter freeze of 1991.. i with 3 others were based in Tirgu Mures others were sent to other areas around Romania. There was still the heavy atmosphere of oppression and intimidation from the dictator even though he had been executed... the secret police still feared. But we all breezed in from all over Eurooe & Scandinavia to whoosh the energy into love and care.. helpers from Sweden to Ireland bringing in expertise to help. For me what struck me was adults suffering birth defects like bilateral talipes ( inward turned feet) that in paediatric care would have been corrected from birth. So from medical perspective was like going back in time before NHS .. I wonder how all the children we cared for are now.. grown and parents themselves. I wonder how tge local Pastor & his wife are who asked me back to speak at a church conference. No this Lady Marjorie must stand tall in the neighbourhood as I have on the frontline in my career. So sad that now as OAP there are folk that think I am a target to intimidate not love and respect... but alas when drugs in the neighbourhood it distorts minds... so sad seeing youth destroy their lives when there is so much work for them to do ..as we have a bigger problem than pandemic our planet needs resuscitating from our damage!
I write this as my front garden got vandalised well my rose tree called Angel Eyes. This happened while some youths saw me going out to the local shops. They have in lockdown threatened me.. no evidence it was them but suspected.
So sad the tree called Angel Eyes but a message: as in order for us to see with Angel Eyes you need to see with your heart. We need people to have Angel Eyes to see and act as angels in love & care.

Thank you amazing lady
Beautiful farewell gift to an amazing lady that I hope one day I can meet in person though had opportunity to share zoom time with. Mme Bensouda has completed her term has the Chief Prosecutor in the International Criminal Court.. she has worked hard, though there is still an outstanding workload for her successor! Still some deluded despotic leaders and war criminals at large to bring to justice. But I am sure she will continue to heal the world from man made darkness..
droevig nieuws sad news
Sad to find this message in my twitterfeed. One of my favourite writers passed away. Her books have helped me through the lockdown with captivating stories. Dear Lucinda you helped so many with escapism into page turning stories and meeting amazing characters on those pages, sharing their challenges and feelings and adventure.. My granddaughter is studying creative writing and I gave her a copy of the Italian Girl .. my first introduction to Lucinda's work ..a totally beautifully crafted story that all creative writing schools should refer too. Its magical.

Yesterday evening I attended a zoom meeting with Medact Scotland discussing plans for COP26 UN Climate Change Conference hosted by UK in Glasgow for 1st -12th November this year. It was a good meeting where clinicians are concerned over the health effects of Climate Change already being seen.
I decided to take a look at the COP26 explained pdf on the COP website with this challenge the PM on the 10 point plan cited and facts cited therein: COP26

Eurostar Metropolitan Magazine
I so miss going to Belgium on the Eurostar to see my Syrian family there that I befriend Family Link Up The bargain seats helped me make frequent visits before all the world turned upside down with the pandemic. I was booked to travel last year in March but lockdowns here and in Belgium upskittled that. If you have been following the story of my project I had intended to pick up the artwork we had submitted to the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition..but that got cancelled due to lockdown and Bushra's art was not selected for 2nd round of judging. We have submitted another piece of art for this year Summer Exhibition rescheduled for autumn. Royal Academy of Arts So I may have to fathom out how to get the work to London.. post or travel around restrictions & advice. I have had my 2 vaccinations.. but we must see. You can view Bushra's art on this link Bushra's Art Gallery...
Just been sat reading the Eurostar Metropolitan Magazine sent to me as a registered customer. I have found this interesting article on rooftop Beekeeping in Paris.
I love the dual language reading of the magazine in English & French. It seems bee keeping became popular in the lockdown, though was already in existence as an Urban ecological hobby. It is interesting how there are observed differences in yield to the arrondissement where the rooftop hives are kept. It has led to more commitment to make more green spaces by the mayor. The expert bee keepers put on workshops to learn the art and skill. But I love this quote from Audric de Campeau:
"When you opening up an hive, you cannot be stressed. They feel it. You have to remain calm and centred"
"Lorsque l'on ouvre une ruche, il ne faut pas être stressé sinon les abeilles le sentent. Il faut rester très calme, tres posé."
So in effect folk have been finding this relaxing and a form of attunement to nature. I think many of us found this need to connect with nature as the world went upside down in lockdown.

Climate impact on health -Medact Yorkshire
Yesterday evening I joined the zoom meeting held by our Yorkshire MedAct group. I am from Yorkshire with a daughter, son-in-law & grandson in Tadcaster so I was keen to see what the group were doing. I also am encouraging my daughter to join in future meetings as she is a Health & Safety consultant in Yorkshire up to Hadrian's wall. So sat in my garden near Heathrow I listened to amazing speakers.
Points in my notes:
Health & Social workers see what happens to people as direct impact of climate change.
Health & Social workers need to be strong voices.
We will become climate migrants as UK hit with more flooding.
Heatwaves lead to drought and deaths from heatstroke.
Asthmatics have excerbation of condition with combination of air pollution in heat.
There is a link with dementia from air pollution.
Need to become carbon literate refs:
Know your own carbon footprint.
Have a plan for crisis.
Declare a climate emergency. Ref: Health Declares - Climate Crisis
Climate Change puts pressure on health sector.
There was a brilliant presentation by Alexis Percival on impact on Ambulance service.
Mental health problems
Injuries in floods
Water borne infections
Hypothermia
Heat exhaustion
Vector carrying insects.
There is a need to make NHS a Greener NHS. Alexis presented how ambulance stations & ambulances can become green. 900 ambulance stations around UK.
Fuel review for Ambulances from diesal to green hydrogen.
There was a discussion on sourcing and manufacturing hydrogen gases.
