Olivia Avon Lady

Well pleased with my Avon order.  My granddaughter Olivia has registered as an Avon lady. The company also sets up a personal link to the online shop. You register as her customer, can order and the company handle payment and delivery to you. I paid with the paypal option. Excellent range of make up, toiletries, bags, jewelry, clothes.  I needed new lounger PJs as all the lockdown wearing of my existing ones showing worn out. This set from Avon only took 4 days to come. Fits so good. The top I love ..could wear it outside with trousers or skirt. Loving the slogan "the world is yours to explore" ... so ready to travel again too.. Got my renewed passport got my vaccination letter pass too.  Just need some good funds to book a week away. Regulations permitting of course.

Ice lolly moulds

i saw these novelty ice lolly moulds on This Morning programme and thought i need to get these for Leen & Celine Family Link Up  they will be great for making healthy fruit juice lollies, smoothie lollies and flavoured yoghurt lollies. You can order them from Lakeland   I was well impressed by the quick order & delivery. I have now got them posted on to Belgium for the girls.

Knitting projects

My daughter Nicola asked if I would knit some baby cardigans for her friend expecting her first baby soon.  I actually appreciated this mission as in the heatwave was all I felt I could do. Enjoyed in the garden with my parasol, cool cloths, talc, drinks, oh and the truck of putting a hot water bottle filled with water in the freezer. In the heat was wonderful to feel refreshing cool of the ice!  Today finished this blue jacket and now started on a white cardigan ...
The white cardigan below is worked on 149sts in one piece back & fronts then divides for the armholes & chest. There is only one row of jiggery pokery k2 yrn p1 p3tog p1 yon k2 to make the lace pattern. Reminds me of my first baby knit when 11yrs old a 3ply matinee coat worked on 179sts with alternate chequered plain & lace squares worked in one piece then plain chest divide. My mother taught me go knit as she always had some knitting on the go. I would knit ahead of my daughters growing. As you will have read in on my Family Link Up blog I enjoy knitting for my Syrian refugee family too. In fact that got me going again with knitting after a break of not doing.

My new plants from Wrest Park

Garden all sorted this morning felt a new energy in me. Weeds hoed new plants in ..decided to pot the strawberry plant.. nice coffe break with a mega yummy donut our Nicola got me.

History of Wrest Park

Yesterday's trip to Wrest Park was interesting for me as a retired nurse & midwife. We had a history talk from one of the staff in the family house. Apparently Wrest Park was one of the first convalescent hospitals in WW1.. here are some links to read more plus there have been attempts to find the identities of nurses that cared for the wounded. WW1 nursing Wrest Park and Forces article

Surprise meet up

Yesterday I had strict instructions from my eldest daughter Debbie to be ready for her to pick me up in the morning as she was taking me for lunch. It turned out both my girls had planned an open air meet up at Wrest Park Nicola my youngest daughter lives up in Yorkshire and works for English Heritage so they worked this all out. All three of us double vaccinated and not seen one another since all this pandemic started. Yes seen online but not been together. We all started crying when we saw one another. So emotional and a reflection of how painful lockdowns been, keeping family apart.  Felt so liberating to be driven up the M1 to the near Luton venue.

What a lovely place to walk and talk together have breakfast and lunch together. The weather did give us a heavy downpour then the wind broke up the clouds to give us some sunshine. The gardens full of colour. We full of catch up and fun. So many statues in the grounds.. some sculpturer got a good contract lol. We tried to work out the time on the sun dial..lol realising sun dials don't change the hour like our clocks for summer time.   The garden shop was lovely and I got some plants for my garden as memory of a brilliant day.
