Webinar Brunel Uni on Cultural rights

 

Some random screen captures from yesterday's Good afternoon webinar from Brunel university up the road from me. Seb Jenner is brilliant at putting meetings together and good that members of public can attend.. got some follow on reading to do now. The input from the museum's on understanding cultures is so important as they become educational hubs on historical & modern day evolution...The panel discussion took us into what are the drivers within culture but also what can be a driver to dilute or even destroy cultures.  There is also a dynamic of evolution as we merge and fuse cultures in music, arts, fashion, cuisine & mixed marriage. The key is for human rights to be respected and our planet home.

Museums become hubs for education on cultures and learning about the evolution in geographical areas plus practices art & fashion.

Maandag on my visit to Oostende and after a meeting at Inloopteam-de-viertorre with Monique we went for lunch at the Cultuur Cafe such a good place with so much of tge arts on offer too. Good place to meet up. See also Family Link Up post

Belgium Visit & Ukraine support

Thank you Thank you Thank you Eurostar for your bargain seats to help me visit my Family Link Up nip over to the family link up blog to see update on that visit to Oostende.

But look at the kindness going and coming back to help Ukrainian refugees.

In Brussels Midi Belgium Red Cross wait at every train from Germany to meet and greet refugees. Most importantly ensure safety especially as women and children are travelling alone!

At St Pancras London volunteers from Camden Council meet and greet those travelling free on the Eurostar..( that have the present government demand for visas!) On my way back waiting to board Eurostar in Brussels 2 Ukrainian brothers turned up 19yrs & 12 yrs been sent alone to meet their Auntie in London. Mama & Papa back in Kiev. The staff were so kind & caring ...and I could not help Gran hugging the young brother as so so brave and so heartbreaking to know all that they have seen and experienced. Such a wrench to leave parents behind. I told the elder brother, who spoke English to tell his auntie to inform her MP of their arrival to get more help. Plus to contact City of Sanctuary UK to get extra support.

PETITION Energy costs to patients needing home life saving machines

 

This is urgent given rise in energy costs. We need to think about patients at home on dialysis or feeding or vaccuum therapy or ventilators or CPAP that requires electric source.. There must be a grant provision and package of care from energy companies...this petition as received an inadequate response ...so can we get this up to 100,000 and more signatures to get this debated and voted for in parliament? Note you can follow activity on UK map.. so get local groups, football clubs, rugby clubs, golf clubs, sport centres to sign and raise awareness... tweet to celebs, tv programmes.. lets get this URGENTLY addressed.  Petition Link
