Blue Commons Powerful Meeting

Last night attended The start of a monthly series of talks organised by my MP John McDonnell looking at Claim the Future ..New Thinking to Transform a Society in Crisis New thinking events

https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/new-thinking-to-transform-a-society-in-crisis-tickets-585639151467

This evening a very powerful talk by Guy Standing The Blue Commons ..rescuing the economy of the sea..

Very worrying facts which I will share has I digest all that was shared and read through the book.

Every family, every grandparent, every parent, every grandchild and every teacher needs this book to understand how we are pushing our seas further into crisis... from mining sea beds to aquaculture that is failing to be designed with full ecosystem in mind .. in rush to profiteer imbalance is being created.

Interesting how in the answer to who owns the seas we can go back into history into common law ... Roman Empire recognition of the value of the seas..

Blue Commons Rescuing the Economy of the Sea.. Penguin books

Good to be in OUR yes OUR people's parliament... it is not an exclusive club but a constitutional right to enter and attend debates, meetings .. though may not be in the Chamber the reason there is a public gallery is that YOU yes You have the right to be able to view debates ...on policies and acts of parliament... the Central Lobby is the power hub where YOU yes You can lobby slip your MP to discuss matters of concern .. you can even change the course of acts with collective lobby power..

Teams meeting with our police

Last week attended teams meeting with our neighbourhood watch wards in Hillingdon to look at the Baroness Casey Report We were analysing the report and looking at how to tackle issues highlighted in the Metropolitan police. We must remember that there are hardworking men and women trying to protect us ..there is a lot of pain from the report ..so we were looking how to support the police. We certainly need more resources ..it is illogical to cutbacks funding when demands increasing. There is work on a plan see link

International women's day

I attended the International Women's Day at Beck Theartre Hayes ..wearing my Suffragette Sash and WASPI badge to highlight the disgraceful treatment of 1950s born women. We have lost 6 years State  Pension with sudden rise in retirement age to 66. Dreadful targetting us the daughters of those that served & survived WW2 and helped rebuild the nation post war.
The police were there to promote women's safety ..and my local SNT officers dropped off information goods to me at my home. I have given this to my Ukrainian refugee family to translate for other Ukrainian women refugees here.

Was lovely to meet up with Caroline my friend I first met in lockdown when we were permitted distance walks in the park.  We attended the talk on breast cancer and early signs to check for.  Brought back memories of my time nursing in oncology and helping at the Community Cancer Centre in Yiewsley..
In the evening was a a concert of readings, plays, workshop on sexual aspects of being a woman and songs.  Keep scrolling for amazingly good singer. Chess Galea.
Chess Galea gave talk on being a woman in the music industry and performed some of her powerful songs.. the "Hands Off" got us up swaying and dancing. The message hands off my body .. challenging the men that think they can just touch and play when we have not invited them to do so.. that our body is to share with those we love and want to touch and play.. love make with.

Beautiful & hope for Peace

A close up of a very beautiful shawl from Ukraine. A gift from my friend Irena, a brave lady, mother and grandmother of a very loving talented family. A family here in West London safe.  A family I befriend with children that like my Family Link Up Syrian children are like Professors of Linguistics speaking reading many languages.  Was good to visit yesterday after my recovery from flu .. February been a blurr of foggy head, no energy, fever and ears bunged up.. but rest key!
💛💙🌻🙏🤲
pray for peace & victory so we all can live in peace
A reminder how beautiful our world is to value
