International women's day

I attended the International Women's Day at Beck Theartre Hayes ..wearing my Suffragette Sash and WASPI badge to highlight the disgraceful treatment of 1950s born women. We have lost 6 years State  Pension with sudden rise in retirement age to 66. Dreadful targetting us the daughters of those that served & survived WW2 and helped rebuild the nation post war.
The police were there to promote women's safety ..and my local SNT officers dropped off information goods to me at my home. I have given this to my Ukrainian refugee family to translate for other Ukrainian women refugees here.

Was lovely to meet up with Caroline my friend I first met in lockdown when we were permitted distance walks in the park.  We attended the talk on breast cancer and early signs to check for.  Brought back memories of my time nursing in oncology and helping at the Community Cancer Centre in Yiewsley..
In the evening was a a concert of readings, plays, workshop on sexual aspects of being a woman and songs.  Keep scrolling for amazingly good singer. Chess Galea.
Chess Galea gave talk on being a woman in the music industry and performed some of her powerful songs.. the "Hands Off" got us up swaying and dancing. The message hands off my body .. challenging the men that think they can just touch and play when we have not invited them to do so.. that our body is to share with those we love and want to touch and play.. love make with.
