Parliament Survey on Women's Health

The survey updates Women's Health Updates for your information 

My additional survey question answer on how valuable was it to have a survey. 

" There is a wealth of data experience among all citizens so it is essential to reach out and collect information so that policies can be made to help wellbeing ...that wellbeing in mind body spirit social economic aspects of life. we need policies that understand needs to enhance support particularly when in vulnerable stages of life." 

But a subnote we need government ministers and departments to learn hear our voices and action .. We need our MPs letters thats contain our voices and concerns to be promptly answered. Our MPs are to respresent and amplify our voices. 

Today the Speaker addressed this point as a number of MPs had expressed frustration that letters not being responded too.. ! 

Open Lab

Well this Monday been very interesting! There was an Open Lab day at Brunel University where we BORG Brunel Older Reference Group members were invited to meet researchers. There are studies we can take part in as researchers investigate the ageing process and how to improve wellbeing. 

The research pieces we looked at and invited to participate were on 1. Reducing Falls Risk through dedicated mental practice. 2. How heat and walking exercise influence blood flow and cardiovascular health. 3.  Research into behavioural changes that may be indicated in early Alzheimer's..  

So a very stimulating day we also had a very interesting talk on early embryonic development and myeloid leukaemia in children ... as a look at other research in action. 

We are so lucky to have Brunel University in our Borough. I personally feel I can reconnect to my academic background as now retired nurse & midwife...

Friday Lunchtime Concert

Last Friday there was a very lovely Lunchtime concert at Brunel University from our very talented students.. it was so uplifting after the dark dismal days we have had over the last few months. The campus had burst into colour from the spring bulbs .. 

After the concert we had a very interesting stimulating talk from Dr Sam Cave on "What's in a note" the science of music...

Sub zero Temp & CPAP Alert 🚨

AGAIN I express my concern for home users of CPAP Continuous Positive Air Pressure in subzero weather.. Those Patients that just fall out of the NARROW criteria set by the present Chancellor for Winter Fuel Allowance need help too! Room temperature needs to be warm as ambient air is pressured into airway ..so 🚨IF COLD risk of core temp dangerous drop in sleep to lead to HYPOTHERMIA.🚨  Polices need risk assessment and impact analysis before initiated!!!!!! 🚨Pre Christmas email sent to Dept of Health & Social Care as per Wes Streeting PA instructions please ACTION  note also Energy companies need social tariff for vulnerable!!

Caring Hearts

My New Years Eve began with quite an interesting experience.  So grateful to the clinical staff at Harefield hospital... I had my Exercise Echocardiogram to assess my heart wellbeing as I get breathless on exertion and sometimes chest tightening.   Its all part of my sleep apnoeas condition.. So my New Years eve party was sitting cycling in a frontless gown... with no sequins... lol... and disco lights from the flashing red and green lights of the meter readings on my target cycle exertion ... while IV contrast medium and drugs given ... This was some party ... lol ... with two lovely clinicians monitoring heart ECG and scanning my coronary arteries... Heart with a Crown ... Coronary name as they form a crown around the heart muscle... 

My two Earth Angels were one from Turkey and another Filipino... we all clicked  together in love & care as I have connections to both lands ...and as a retired nurse and midwife we had lots of clinical links .. hospital to me feels like going home so many years in practice with long duty spans ... But something very special about Harefield . Lovely atmosphere literally heartfelt sense of caring and understanding vulnerability...with empathy & compassion able to strengthen that vulnerability..from  receptionist to  consultants that care... Such experts in their field with clinical skills .. So was in good hands ... I was a bit ...not dizzy... but muzzy headed after the procedure so was observed for a while till my observations were normalised .. Fluids given and some energy food.  I felt better to return home ... 

At home had some sleep with my CPAP then later watched the New Year in ... 

Lets hope for Peace & Healing Health for the New Year for us all and our planet home
