One of the staff felt my pain and made me aware of this window in dedication of Women Suffragettes and the fight for the right of women's votes ... It is part of the Tide of Change exhibition and is call New Dawn ... The circles you see are the artistic representation of ends of the scrolls of Acts of Parliament... and the window is dynamic lights change to the tide of the River Thames "Programmed by the artist, the light levels fluctuate with the river’s ebb and flow. It builds from low tide, where only one disc is lit, to high tide, where the whole sculpture is illuminated."
"By using a tidal clock to control the intensity of the light, the piece can come alive - transitioning imperceptible from one moment to the next in a continuous arc that drive by the tide, will move with the seasons and the phases of the moon." Mary Branson
