Today been catching some of the stories from the D Day memories on the TV. Many of the stories, images and grief stricken memories are happening today in war torn countries. My work with the Syrian Refugees Family Link Up keeps me in touch with the pain that is going on every day in the world now. Yesterday when I was with Boshra in Belgium we had just dropped off Leen to her school and were waiting at the bus stop for a bus to get Celine to her creche. There was a building site nearby with some demolishing of an old building. Suddenly there was loud crash from the site and Boshra was in panic - she told me she has a phobia now of loud noises since surviving the air strikes...
The old call up soldiers from D day like me now question war and its horrors... too much pain from lost of life and limbs and the survivors left with the never to be erased images and memories. The targeting of civilians and buildings a sledgehammer approach to problem solving and is quite simply a catalogue of war crimes.
When will man mature to become a peaceful being... and truly be a Homo SAPIEN? Wisely and intelligently use the thinking intelligence we have as a species. Learn to live in peace love and harmony with one another and this amazing planet home we all live on together. When will man see that a true man is a man that lives in peace, a strong man is a farmer feeding communities, a strong man is a builder building homes and infrastructure to support communities so we can live our lives in ease and with dignity.
Our evolution is not completed when you think!
