had good natter & lunch at Bettys with Nicola

Been a lovely trip up to York today well impressed with the train deal from London to York return that I booked online and the efficiency of the service. Met with our Nicola, my youngest daughter and had lovely lunch at Betty's but the small Tea Rooms on Stonegate.  That table soon got full of goodies.

Really enjoyed the Poached Salmon Salad with the fries was a feast. 

The service excellent as always with a lovely waitress that took interest in us. 

The Elderflower drink perfect with this meal.  Our Nicola had a huge Chicken sandwich with salad and fries...all beautifully presented. 

I was fascinated by the idea of a Strawberry eclair so ordered one to try alongside the main desert of Lemon cake with white chocolate base.

The Strawberry eclair really works it is very tasty with yummy white chocolate topping. 

The Lemon Cake we both had was very very tasty and of course with a pot of tea as we Yorkshire lasses have to have a brew.. lol   

Loved the centenary window display in both this tea room and the larger tea room round the corner. The tourists were loving the products with the famous queuing for a table. 

Always proud of Betty's an amazing business that I have seen grown over my life time. Was always a place to go for a treat when I was a child with my mum.
