October in its start is proving to be a busy month - had a lovely meeting with the Anglo Belgian Society yesterday evening and some delegates from Luxembourg...
A very interesting presentation on Wealth Management from Carddif Lux Vie and lots to discuss on the potential impact of the impending brexit carry on... all of us with the enlightenment of the power of being a collective in Europe with a strong voice alarmed at the path that is being taken.... In amongst this was good for us to have a good laugh and mingle with some fun on our shared languages. I was able to networking with other retired professionals too and sharing our life experiences. Lovely drinks and food at the Club Quarters Trafalgar Square... Very enjoyable evening.
The weekend to be busy too with a conference to attend at Kings College on How to help make a bridge to the future for Syrian youth. This is very relevant for my Family Link Up project... Especially as I am hearing such loss of hope in Turkey by the border as things get tough and no feeling of being able to touch a future of dreams to be realised. One of the family keen to marry but distraught no funds to support a marriage with no paid work despite lots of skills and knowledge... there is a feeling of being lost in the crowd of needs and the world forgotten them... That is why it is important for more befrienders to listen, understand and try to help guide to that bridge to a future rebuild..
Then in the weekend have time with one of my Grand-daughters Olivia to attend the Hillingdon Literary Festival Sadly I have not submitted any work this year. But Olivia is now well into Creative Writing and will be ready to submit for next year for sure.... it takes me back to when she was little we would read stories then have fun writing stories using powerpoint slides and embellishing with clipart... Now she is studying Media and enjoying developing her creativity. There is more to share as the month develops with more Art Exhibitions to attend to find help for Boshra Art Materials....
