Grenfell visit to see how to help

been down today to see what help is needed at Grenfell Tower it is shocking to see .. but heartwarming the help that is pouring in....The Red Cross there now with other charities trying to co-ordinate.... I personally feel commandeering a hotel would be the best so displaced and grieving and traumatise families could have quiet personal space with dignity. A place where teams can give support and set up counselling and help stations in the safety of a hotel........ The local council have rebuked this idea from me though welcomed my thoughts they are insisting they will be able to rehouse....But in reality there is no housing stock to rehouse in an instant.... we have a disabled wheel chair bound lady from a ground floor flat that has special needs......The food in the hot weather is a worry as the last thing we need is a D&V outbreak... there is so much and it is wonderful response but no cool storage for all....I have asked public health if they have teams to assess... the out of hours now unsure so to ring them again in the morning. The basket ball area is doubling as a sorting donations area but uncovered they need some covering to help turn that space into a warehouse. note covering to be fire retardant... but amazing response by helpers and the emergency team have had to cope with horrendous inferno by the looks of the tower... it is shocking and you cannot help but keep looking to take in the enormity of this fire.....prayers for those souls that have been lost in the tower....... We need a transparent public enquiry on this tower and building material..... we all cannot rest till we have the residents rehoused with the dignity and respect they deserve.....
