Brunel Webinar today on Presentations

This was a useful hour presentation on "how to create and deliver a winning presentation" booked through Brunel University Business Hive  The main clear theme to remember it is a presentation for your audience not the presenter.  So it is important to know the audience so that the presentation can be designed and applied appropriately.
There was a formula of pSCORE  Simple - Clear - Original - Related - Enjoyable.   There was an interesting direction from the team that I remember my mother would tell me way before powerpoints and internets " Don't put all in the shop window you have in the shop!" this was echoed in that the secret to writing a presentation is not what we say but what we don't say. There is no need to communicate all.  What was highlighted is that our brains cannot take in supersaturation.  The key is the number 3 we can only take in 3 pieces of information at a time.. so the presentation needs to be clear, clarify message and have a good storyline.
I was fascinated by the input on voice and the tempos from light to strong from bold to gliding in the delivery of the presentation. It made me feel that our one voice becomes like an orchestra moving through different vowel sounds that convey mood, senses of urgency or importance or calmness... So I enjoyed this webinar.
There was a link given but not so sure if it opens if you have not registered for the event bit.ly/value-onstage...

One fun thing happened to me in this though... In the presentation due consideration was given to your background when presenting on zoom that it can be distracting.  I had a distraction with one of my cats zooooming into the house with a live mouse in her mouth... she put it down but I could not catch it before it scampered off behind some furniture... still there not seen or retrieved so tonight going to be interesting when both my cats detect any movement!! So Tom & Jerry moment in the middle of a presentation not a good idea!!! best keep pets out of room you are presenting from... on that note I am thinking it could be a disaster if they start walking over your keyboard and lose your presentation and audience!!
