Day in Parliament

Was in parliament yesterday for the WASPI campaign meeting more on this in the next blog post.... I was early for the meeting so had some time in the parliament shop and cafe then up in the public gallery after PMQs - you can only be in the public gallery in Prime Minister Question time by appointment.. but after that it is free access.
I am always impressed with the kindness, the care and the respect the staff have with me when I visit. Some call me by my name now Marjorie and are always interested in all I am doing and trying to achieve on lobbying for Domestic and International issues.

But I am getting older and they care for me to with my aging yesterday I was still with a limp from the damaged right knee. I have to wear a knee brace to help me.  We had fun in the security check as this had to be checked out.  But all was done with respect and some fun too.  I was telling the staff I am sounding like an old Antique chair leg creaking now ....joking that I have had to give up my MI5 job as I can no longer sneak up on folk quietly... lol
The staff to and from the public gallery so caring for my safety and escorting me with the lift access.  In fact they had missed me as I have not been for awhile to the gallery... I have been in committee meetings and some have been over in the Portcullis house I was saying.  Of course been out in protests for various issues. They always take and interest in my Syrian refugee family Link up and that is nice.... While I was being helped with some of the steps in parliament I was telling them of the way Dante my Syrian refugee helped me when I was able to visit him in Turkey last year.  He now speaking Turkish as well as English and is Arabic would hold my arm to help me down steep steps in Antalya and would say "Yavaş yavaş" meaning slowly slowly.. but sounds like saying you wash you wash so the parliamentary staff were laughing.. Parliament feels like a family with all my visits.

Always nice cakes in the Jubilee Cafe this is a new selection Raspberry and chocolate brownie... I can get this with a pot of tea for under a fiver... so that is an affordable treat.
I must try and get this for Princess Leen in Belgium,,, this is funny... cannot imagine our Queen running after a fly away hat hhhh Bless Elizabeth she likes wearing her scarves more than the formal hats..... This year she will not be at the Cenotaph for the remembrance day... she has handed over to Prince Charles for this..... I have grown up with Queen Elizabeth and  have always had lovely letters back from her when highlighting issues..... I think she needs to speak with PM to stop this austerity melarky as some of her citizens are going hungry.... There was a young man on the train begging and he looked anaemic and was homeless I did offer for him to come with me to parliament to have something to eat with me... he was astonished at this..... and declined I think it was too overwhelming and offer..... But we need to get the homeless and the hungry in parliament to help feed... A true leader does not have their citizens going hungry but cares for all.... it would be good if the PM would invite the homeless in to meet and feed and then sort out these dreadful policies that are shoving more and more into poverty.  Poverty and wars conflicts are all signs of FAILED LEADERS...
