Sharing Skills day today at the centre

Been helping at the British Red Cross centre in Hackney ... another lovely day of all sharing and pooling skills .. today joined the crochet group and was brilliant with beginners and skilled together plus different cultures.... so some different patterns native to the region they are from .. and yea! got some Arabic instructions with English for Boshra from Family Link Up to fathom out ... we all had lovely breakfast and lunch too plus cake with coffee ... so a good time of sharing and supporting one another.. Amazing how much counselling and language learning is done over crafts. Good to see smiles instead of sadness and feelings of despair from the poor situation our service users are in.. All helps to reconnect with self -  the self they feel is lost in the overwhelming destitution they are in... Made me think "no £ in purse should not mean no food in belly" Today really felt so much better to have a community that pools resources and skills to simply share and care with one another.
