The million
a rich cream.

Old woman
looks on in shame
Not this in
my country and in my name.
Yet she is
hungry and feeling faint.
The truth of
this land she must paint.

This is
London in two thousand and seventeen
With poverty
more to be seen
Yet contrasted
with the wealthy
Who are
looking extremely healthy
Gym,
designer clothes and good food they buy
While others
a good life denied - yet try

Contrast to
wide to be ignored
Time to
ensure that politicians are implored
Poverty and
social pain no more
To make this
land a fair land.
With opportunity
to make us grand.
