Clare Brownlow amazing

Just been blown away watching BBC Countryfile and the reporters visit to artist Clare Brownlow. Clare uses a very unique brush style ... pheasant feathers... the technique with Indian inks of bright colours are breathtaking to see in her studio.  The feather tip may stick on the paper and still produces artistic splashes to create a very interesting effect.  As I watched I was intrigued with the way she can get the iridescent look to some studies of birds and fishes.

It is has she says painting nature with nature...... I have tracked down her website and she is on facebook too... There are a number of comments on her fb page from other besotted viewers...

I picked this parrot as it holds memories for me from two different geographical localities..  India and Yorkshire ... yes Yorkshire as where I lived when I worked at Airedale General Hospital in Steeton there was a manor close by and they kept 3 naughty parrots... that each late afternoon would be let lose to fly and they would land on set trees around the manor and local houses to sabbotage the branches... they were breathtaking to watch though in flight.  In India I remember sitting on my balcony to have the wonderful coloured birds fly by.... so lovely with their colours......
