Scunthorpe...what a treasure

It will be a pleasure to find the treasure for some folks making their way to Scunthorpe today..  There is an artist that has hidden some gold trinkets worth up to £2,500 each in 18 ct gold... and the Finders are Keepers.... Sounds easy... but not..... there are some indepth clues to work out and some may take months to work out to be able to find the loot..

What is it?Five pieces of art work by Luke Jerram are going up in the 20-21 arts centre on Saturday, each with a clue as to the whereabouts of five small artefacts cast in 18ct gold that have been hidden in Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire.How long do I have to find an artefact?The pictures will be on display from Saturday until Saturday, April 29. The exhibition opens at 10am on Saturday. From that time you can solve the clues to find the artefacts. The first to find them keeps them.However, some of the artefacts may not be found before the exhibition ends and will remain hidden until they are discovered.What happens if you find an artefact?Whoever finds the artefact will be able to keep it as well as deciding which venue in the area gets to keep the associated painting.How difficult are the artefacts to find?The clues range in difficulty from the deceptively simple, to puzzles that will pose a challenge even to professional code-breakers and hackers, meaning those artefacts may not be found for years to come - or may never be uncovered!Why has the treasure hunt been done?The exhibition and treasure hunt are a celebration of the area's heritage.Mr Jerram said: "I like the idea that ancient objects that were once hidden beneath the earth and were discovered and displayed at the museum are now being rehidden. I hope the public will enjoy visiting 20-21 Arts Centre and exploring the town and surrounding countryside.
