Global Family Evening

Absolutely brilliant evening thanks to the Brixton Baptist Church and our Syrian Refugees..... Global family sharing of food, music and dance and lot of laughter in among tears of story sharing....
Very grateful to all those that showed interest in my Family Link Up project too. With some good email sharing for follow up on discussions.  I am more than happy to come along to meetings to talk about this project too...
love the idea of the web of decorations in the church hall... to symbolize how we are all connected and whatever happens in one part of to world affects another part the world. When our Global family hurt others feel it it too and respond to that pain to help..... all we need is all the power drunk despotics in the world to realise their power is delusional. The real power is love and care and compassion for one another and being a Global family... sharing with one another.
Good food, song and dance and story sharing to bring us all together as the global family we are.
Tables cleared and Dabke dance together.

Marhabtayn Syrian Supper Club: We are a group of Londoners – Syrians and friends – working show solidarity with people caught up in Syria’s conflict and refugee crisis, through music, food and fundraising for people in need. We raise funds in support of individuals in Syria and also as refugees who are stuck in some of the country’s many enormous personal tragedies. We raise money to get them urgent medical care, to get legal defense or to cope with disability and trauma. We would also like to support a refugee family to come to London!
The Baytree Family: We are a co-operative house and community organisation that runs local charity and community events in Brixton. We want to create a more connected local community with welcoming and fun events that are open to all in their diverse area. Our events are focused around a theme and raise money for local charities whilst also bringing local people together, irrespective of age and background.
