Refugee Women

I have great admiration for the women in the Eleanas Camp, Athens where I visit. I have observed that women are amazing. No matter the situation we find ourselves in we make home and hold our families together. I see women working hard washing and cooking and caring for their children and their menfolk.  Some of the men would help but most men went off in man huddles for tea and talk. other men were trying to mend things and make things for their homes. But all would try to learn. The women I am well impressed with as among their chores they do go to the Women's centre to learn English and Greek. I am so ready for another visit... and to visit Turkey too to see all that is happening there where Dante is. Read more on my Family Link Up blog

If you would like me to come along to a group to talk about my experience then email me on marjoriebahhaj@gmail.com. Fee will be a donation to the Family Link Up project and I will require travel expenses for talks out of London.
